[How to] Changing hwbot teams to i4memory.com Team

Some existing hwbot users might have thought about changing over our i4memory.com hwbot benchmarking team.

Here's a quick run down of what I believe should be done to move to i4memory.com hwbot team and to take your old scores with you to our team

It's easy to change hwbot teams just
  1. Read http://www.hwbot.org/hwbot.post.do?postId=41
  2. Go to your profile at http://www.hwbot.org/profile.account.do and change teams if you registered online.
  3. If you haven't registered online at hwbot.org, just register with same username on hwbot.org that you use on your previous team/forum.
  4. Once registered online at hwbot.org, go to this page http://www.hwbot.org/profile.fora.do and authenticate your old forum/team username/password. This will move your old scores over.
  5. Ensure in your profile at http://www.hwbot.org/profile.account.do that you selected i4memory.com as the team BEFORE you authenticate your old results.

So welcome aboard new i4memory.com hwbot team members

How to Submit Results Online
Rather than via forum submission, you can also submit results directly to hwbot.org. You need to sign up online at hwbot.org with same username (case sensitive) as the username you use on the forums. And then follow this video guide http://www.hwbot.org/hwbot.post.do?postId=143

Information:
How are hwbot points awarded?

Benchmarks:
To submit your score, simply update the relevant pages OR submit them directly to hwbot for the i4memory.com team .

Just click on the benchmark name to download the applications. These links are provided with no guarantee of being virus free, they should be ok but always be careful.
= points no longer count towards the team but you can still get rank and compare with other submissions

Re: hwbot i4memory.com team challenge - July - Dec 2008

For the serious Hwbot folks - where to focus your effort:

The way Hwbot.org basically works with 2 rankings, global and hardware rankings.

The way the rankings and points (hwboints) work, is basically that point allocation is weighted more heavily for categories of hardware or benchmark apps with the more number of results. Also the higher the global rank of your score, the more points you get but that also depends on number of total results for that benchmark.

Example:
A E6600 core 2 duo cpu has more submissions in Hwbot.org database than Q6600, so a benchmark submission for Super Pi 1M and 32M in top 10 for E6600 category would get more points than say the #1 ranked Q6600 category Super Pi 1M and 32M result.

You can see the distribution of which are the most popular benchmarks here.

New thread for a new semester of hwbot benching

I'll remind everyone to re-read each benchmark's info page linked to at http://www.hwbot.org/benchmark.do to understand the rules and required screenshot and url validations needed for each of the respective benchmarks.

For specific hwbot benchmark discussions you can also use the hwbot discussion forum here.
