hardcore vLite Vista Ultimate SP1 32/64-bit (600MB/950MB) for benching

Hi guys

Here is the latest "How to" on vLite
this time round i wanted to really trim Vista Ultimate as much as possible and also tweak it properly for 2D and 3D benching

i've tested a version previous to this and it required AERO for PCMARK05 which is now part of the package

I've put together a pictorial guide here since i'm too lazy to explain everything step by step

The other thing i've done is actually show you the finished product so that you know WHAT TO KEEP (hence everything you see in the screenshots)

the guide i have here is for 32-bit Vista Ultimate and at the end i am showing you that i have used the same principle to create the 64-bit version as some members here may prefer to install the latter.

i've used the latest version of vLite 1.2 beta

here is the screenshot of the 64-bit equivalent finished

enjoy
and pls report if you've had any issues so that we can correct them here

So where do you actually remove the bloat?

Excellent guide Dinos! Maybe include the saved preset.ini for the removing part so we can load the exact settings for which apps need removing etc ? (of course minus your product key etc)

I haven't tried 32bit Vista yet only 64bit and minimum you can reduce it to is around 1.33-1.38GB if you want to maintain Pcmark05/vantage operability

bloat is already removed in my copy you see
i am just showing you what's actually left from options

george that file does not cover all the options i found
it's best to just fo one by one and it won't really take very long considering the fact i pretty much removed the whole freaking thing hehhehe
