[feedback] Additional custom IMG Tags
More tweaking. This time I added additional custom IMGF and IMGFS tags as well as a URLF tag. With these new tags, you can either use IMGF/IMGFS tags to make a larger image resize in dimension to thumbnail size OR you can use URLF tags to link a thumbnail image or text links to a larger image size.
3 new bbcode tags exclusive to i4memory.com which when clicked shows a popup window ![]()
IMGF tag The IMGF tag can be access via the editor image ![]()
bbcode is (minus the spacing): [ imgf ]imageurl[/ imgf ] ![]() IMGFS tag custom width thumbnails IMGFS tag allows changing the thumbnail width to whatever value you want For 150px width: [ imgfs = 150 ]imageurl[/ imgfs] For 200px width: [ imgfs = 200 ]imageurl[/ imgfs] improved the functionality even more by adding a 3rd custom bbcode tag = URLF URLF tag Added URLF function to editor via ![]() ![]() The URLF tag does the opposite of the IMGF and IMGFS tags and allows you to link a thumbnailed image to pop up window for the larger version ![]() bbcode for URLF: [ URLF= larger_image_urllink ] [ IMG ] thumbnail_image_link [ / IMG ] [ /URLF] To compare IMGFS to URLF tags, take these 2 examples. First one uses IMGFS=190 and second is a thumbnail image linked via URLF to larger version. Thumbnail image via URLF tag is only 8kb in size versus larger image resized via IMGFS=190 at 109kb! ![]() ![]() URLF tag also works with text links to larger images click me for full size image So now you can either use IMGF/IMGFS tags to make a larger image resize in dimension to thumbnail size OR you can use URLF tags to link a thumbnail image or text links to a larger image size ![]() Imageshack.us Example For a practical example of URLF tag is with say imageshack.us linked thumbnail images. You need to copy the code provided by imageshack.us for Thumbnail for forums (1) but replace the url link in bold for URL=http://imageshack.us/my.php?image= with the image url listed in Direct link to image. [ URL= large image url ] [ IMG ] thumbnail image url [/ IMG ] [ /URL] and add an F to URL to become [ URLF= large image url ] [ IMG ] thumbnail image url [/ IMG ] [ /URLF] Note URLF= must be static url image not dynamic (with question mark ? ).
So default imageshack.us provided code is: ![]() becomes ![]() Change dynamic url link from: http://img363.imageshack.us/my.php?image=asusoverclocking200718uc1.jpg to: http://img363.imageshack.us/img363/4366/asusoverclocking200718uc1.jpg |

Re: [feedback] Additional custom IMG Tags
i love the new tags...and had no idea they existed. they come to full size so fast and retract just as fast, very nice. these would be perfect for OC Reports, why can't all forums have this ability

Thanks.. it's thanks to the power of the vBulletin forum engine that I can do this via bbcode modification ![]()
![]() Thought it would be useful for my forum reviews - DFI UT X48-T2R soon ![]() Still can't get next/previous links to show up in popup full images though - it's meant to be able to cycle through all images in the post ![]() |

Re: [feedback] Additional custom IMG Tags
it's such a slick setup. no more thumbnails and no more new tabs/windows or going to a new page when clicking on full size images. the forward and back arrows would be icing on the already delicious cake. this is a very very nice feature for guys like us, great work George

Re: [feedback] Additional custom IMG Tags
Yup.. i love my screenies but some folks say I post too many full size screenies making page scrolling a nightmare
![]() So this is a compromise as I can't be bothered with creating thumbnails for every screenshot I post ![]() |

![]() would it be easy to implement this for other vbulletin powered forums? or is this some crazy back room concoction that you came up with...mad scientist skills? |
