Have you enabled the memory remap feature within the BIOS? It needs to be enabled for 4GB+ of memory on P5B Dlx & Commando's.

Also, as Eva has already touched upon, with P965 & quad, your looking at a FSB limitation of ~400mhz, up to 430mhz on the boards with an above average P965 chipset.
I just looked in the BIOS and couldn't see a remap feature. I am running 1605....where is the setting located?

Have a look under North Bridge Chipset Configuration.

Thats where it was located in 0804 (P5B Dlx, not Commando). I am currently running 1216, I will double check next reboot to see if it is still an option (or possible made a new standard?) in more recent bios's.

I have swapped back to my Q6600 from my Xeon 3110. The quad seems much snappier in general windows tasks and multi tasking duties.

Just checked on 1216, memory remap is still included and is definately the first option in Nth Bridge Config menu
