Re: DFI LANParty UT P35-T2R Preview photos & Bios Screenshots

Just flashed from 8/23 to 9/13 official bios and starting to do some 2:3 (266/800) divider tests of the new memory related options to see what they bring to the table

I'll be using Everest Ultimate 4.10.1128 Beta and Super Pi v1.50 32M test for the comparisons.

Comparison Results

  • 500Mhz 4-4-4-12 / all AUTO T2 Dispatch = Disabled = 15:58.547
  • 500Mhz 4-4-4-5 / A-25-A-plA-A-11-10-AA-454-AA T2 Dispatch = Disabled = 15:51.281
  • 500Mhz 4-4-4-5 / A-25-A-plA-A-11-10-AA-454-AA - EDT = Fast EA = Auto T2 Dispatch = Disabled = 15:50.469
  • 500Mhz 4-4-4-5 / A-25-A-plA-A-11-10-AA-454-AA - EDT = Turbo EA = Auto T2 Dispatch = Disabled = 15:50.562
  • 500Mhz 4-4-4-5 / A-25-A-plA-A-11-10-AA-454-AA - EDT = Auto EA = Auto T2 Dispatch = AUTO = 15:50.422
  • 500Mhz 4-4-4-5 / A-25-A-plA-A-11-10-AA-454-AA - EDT = Auto EA = Fast T2 Dispatch = Disabled = 15:50.265
  • 500Mhz 4-4-4-5 / A-25-A-plA-A-11-10-AA-454-AA - EDT = Turbo EA = Fast T2 Dispatch = Disabled = 15:46.594
  • 500Mhz 4-4-4-5 / A-25-A-plA-A-11-10-AA-454-AA - EDT = Turbo EA = Fast T2 Dispatch = AUTO = 15:46.594

Well too high CPU VTT/VFSB can more likely kill a cpu that too high VCORE from what I've read.. not 100% sure but for me I'd rather use more vcore than more CPU VTT/VFSB.

If you need >1.55 CPU VTT for 24/7 use then your cpu overclock is probably too much for 24/7 so dropping cpu clocks to meet the <1.45v CPU VTT would be what I'd do for 24/7. That or sell the cpu and get a better one
hmm.. interesting. The weird thing is I can pass small fft with 1.4v vcore and 1.3v cpu vtt @ 3.6ghz but getting large fft stable is the hard part. It's an issue with the board, not the CPU.. I think now i'll revert back to 3.3ghz where everything is set to auto except vdimm and timings/divider and vdroop control = disabled. My Q6600 is the same as yours George, L725A903

Like you I think 1.55v cpu vtt is too high.

I've got to be honest, on that basis your overclock is being limited by the DFI. Asus doesn't need the vtt and abit doesn't need the vtt.

It does raise some questions, and I think getting straight answers isn't going to be easy.

Re: DFI LANParty UT P35-T2R Preview photos & Bios Screenshots

I think that statement is very a unfair assessment and too soon to make such a statement considering the learning curve even very advanced users are confronted with on this board!

For Example>>>> just me playing with Fine Delay adjustment my Bandwidth shot right up actually more than I had expected. So I think this board when the puzzle is unlocked will hold the Golden Egg for overclockers and present a challenge in getting there vs the hum drum usual Ok I am board to death of my current Motherboard syndrome I need something new to intrigue me and on to the next hum drum victim....
Really thats one thing that has not impressed me with these new C2D boards since I switched from AMD the lack of options for people (overclockers ) who are compelled to tinker and tweek just has not been there not right now I do not feel that way though because I firmly believe this is the new "Expert" Motherboard of C2D Clocking!
