Re: asus commando + qx6700 4ghz on air

that's excellent for air anyway but never can complain about asking for more

maybe unload the i-ram and 8800gts and use PCI video card to go higher ?

Re: asus commando + qx6700 4ghz on air

removed the i-ram,
removed the 8800gts

replaced it with a fx5500 pci,
replaced the sata hdd with a ide wd 40gb,

added a large desk fan blowing over the board and through the tuniq tower,

http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=201948

was able to come up with that, 368 * 11 = 4048mhz,

i tried to push for 4.1gz but was unable to with air,

i tried pushing the vcore right up to 1.675 bios, 1.59 real, nb 1.55, vfsb 1.5, no result,

so thats my official highest air validation, can get to about 4150 but not benchable...

Re: asus commando + qx6700 4ghz on air

removed the tuniq tower and setup a water loop,

swiftech apogee block,
mcp650 pump,
swiftech triple double pass rad,
2x panaflow 100+cfm, 1x delta 220cfm,
swiftech res,
pro custom 100w psu,

had to bump the vcore up to 1.75 bios, 1.61 real, but was able to validate at

377 * 11 = 4147mhz

I think there is more mhz to be had, just have to sit down for a couple more hours, this seems to be a reasonable chip, might scale up well with phase/dice and ln2..

ill grab a digicam from work tommorow to take a few snaps of my setup

Re: asus commando + qx6700 4ghz on air

i did the vdroop pencil mod, i plan to do this properly when i get some trimpots,

http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc?id=202796

allowed me to validate 4169mhz

not bad, hopefully i can push a few more mhz out of that with a proper vdroop mod!
