0311 is ok for me
put your E6600 back in will ya ?
I get all depressed seeing 3.0Ghz+ quad results

P5K Deluxe 0311 bios definitely improved memory overlocking over 0304/0307 bios for my 2x1GB Super Talent T1000UB1G5 Singles Micron D9GKX.

Max single Super Pi 32M v1.50 for 2x1GB Super Talent T1000UB1G5 Singles Micron D9GKX:
  • 605mhz 5-5-5-15 at 2.35v and 600mhz 5-5-4-5 at 2.45v and 600mhz 5-4-4-4 at 2.60v on Asus P5B Deluxe 1101 bios
  • 614mhz 5-5-5-5 at 2.45v on Asus P5K Deluxe 0304 bios, higher vdimm didn't help even for 5-4-4-x or loose 5-5-5-15
  • 625mhz 5-5-4-9 at 2.50v on Asus P5K Deluxe 0311 official bios and benched other apps with 2.45v - I feel it can scale even more with more vdimm!

Revisiting OCZ PC2-9200 FlexXLC but for first time on Asus P5K Deluxe... thought I'd branch off these results to their own thread at http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=4109

Re: Asus P5K Deluxe - Intel P35 Bearlake + Intel E6600 B1 ES / Q6600 Kentsfield / X68

Q6600 @7x490FSB 1:1
OCZ PC2-9200 FlexXLC @490Mhz 4-4-4-9

Now I'm truly getting the hang of tweaking Asus P5K Deluxe with OCZ PC2-9200 FlexXLC memory. Below is probably one of the fastest single 32M runs at 1:1 for 7x490FSB 4-4-4-9 settings.

Note, Kentsfield B3 stepping cpus are clock for clock slower in single instance Super Pi benchmarks compared with Core 2 Duo dual core B2 stepping cpus.

Also, 0311 Official bios increased my Q6600 Kentsfield cpu's max FSB from 485FSB to 490FSB without needing to raise CPU PLL volts from 1.5v to 1.6v as I needed on 0307 beta bios. With 0311 official bios and my Q6600 I've managed to sometimes boot into memtest @7x500FSB but on exiting bios, it doesn't boot up and needs power reset to get back into bios. So still working at it but already an improvement over 0307 beta bios

Re: Asus P5K Deluxe - Intel P35 Bearlake + Intel E6600 B1 ES / Q6600 Kentsfield / X68

2x1GB OCZ PC2-9200 FlexXLC
CAS4 Performance

It seems testing OCZ PC2-9200 FlexXLC's CAS4 performance on Asus P5K Deluxe is about the same as on Asus P5B Deluxe, hitting a ceiling around 540Mhz 4-4-4x at 2.45v. But, the difference is that on Asus P5B Deluxe, it required very loose sub timings. On Asus P5K Deluxe it was totally different, I could run very very tight sub timings @540Mhz 4-4-4-9 2-25-2-2-8 at 2.45v and it really showed in the Everest Ultimate reported bandwidth and latency and also in single Super Pi 32M time for a quad core, Q6600 B3 cpu.

Re: Asus P5K Deluxe - Intel P35 Bearlake + Intel E6600 B1 ES / Q6600 Kentsfield / X68

Q6600 B3 @3465Mhz
7x495FSB

2GB Crucial Ballistix PC2-8500 @618Mhz 5-5-5-9 at 2.35v

Swapped over to 2x1GB Crucial Ballistix 8500 dual channel kit.
  • It seems for my Q6600 B3 max FSB depends on how well memory modules can handle certain settings. Why ? Because my Q6600 B3 can hit 495-500FSB alot easier with this memory than other memory I've tested. Other memory hit max FSB around 490FSB.
  • Also I might have found a possible strap change for Asus P5K Deluxe (maybe only noticeable with very very tight subtimings ? ) @500FSB. At 7x500FSB, memtest86+ v1.70 reported 6216MB/s bandwidth. At 7x499FSB, memtest86+ v1.70 reported 6505MB/s bandwidth!.

That kind of time I usually need on Asus P5B Deluxe around 3600Mhz - 9x400FSB 4:5 500Mhz 4-4-4-4
