Re: Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 B2 + P5B Deluxe

Yup hard to believe a little pencil drawn line on a resisitor can improve things

More proof that 4:5 divider on P5B Deluxe is alot tighter wound than 2:3. Only ~2 seconds faster with 11x372FSB and 2:3 for 558mhz 4-4-4-4 memory clocks.

Slightly better by ~0.4 seconds by booting at 333FSB instead of 372FSB and clockgen up to 372FSB.

Re: Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 B2 + P5B Deluxe

Why or how does clockgenning up from 333 help? Is it a strap thing or some other intel voodoo?

Also when I measured the VDroop resistor on the Commando I found it was 80K ohms, is that what you meant with your P5B?

Sorry for all the questions I'm a nosy sod

yeah 80k ohm - just not too familiar resistance metrics hehe

Someone say booting from 333FSB was tighter strap and sure it is as i can't clockgen past 380FSB from 333FSB boot with 1.65v NB volts. But only gained 0.4 seconds

With high multis it's worth while definitely, even if it is only 0.4 secs, every little bit counts.

I gotta say that those 32m times are impressive especially for 965, not far from what 975 can achieve 1:1 with tight timings... who'd've thunk it! Sub 12 mins on the horizon.

Re: Intel Core 2 Extreme X6800 B2 + P5B Deluxe

Yeah the higher multipliers help alot!

Decided to try new version of OCCT v1.1.0 http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=3539 which has added support for Everest Ultimate for monitoring. But I couldn't get OCCT to recognise Everest Ultimate says Shared memory disabled! ?

Anyway using Speedfan v4.31 did CPU test only for standard 30 minutes. 1.200v idle and 1.208v load which agrees with AI Suite. Seems OCCT doesn't stress cpu as much as Prime95 v25.1 small ffts. OCCT runs 4-5C cooler under load compared to Prime95 v25.1 small ffts.

1KW OCZ ProXStream psu being used although Speedfan itself doesn't report the +5v and +3.3v rails. +12v rail agrees with prior testing the rails even under X1900 Crossfire quad core load don't budge much at all.

Now OCCT v1.1.0 at 3600Mhz at 1.4v bios (1.384v)

My 2nd fastest PCmark05 score ever, fastest being with E6700@3900mhz with 2x X1900CF setup at 13,946.

This is single 8800GTS @648/2052.. have to move to Asus 680i for 8800GTS SLI PCmark05 score

Single 8800GTS @648/2052 3dmarks
