I have only ever used metho (between drinks ) then just breath on the IHS (garlic breath ) a few times then rub hard using a lint free cloth and its amazing how much stuff comes off even when the IHS is as shiny as a mirror

so AS5 recommends this now

Interesting i followed AS5 new core2 duo instructions so this time round on my Q6600 i did two vertical lines in middle of where both dies would be instead of one vertical line in middle of core2 duo die.

I put the TIM as below, haven't had any problems with not covering the IHS properly yet. Would you guys expect better temps from using the new application method?

I do the same m8 but just a tiny bit less and never have problems with any air cooling I apply. All that stuff in the pdf for c2d is common sense with the cleaning and what not.

I think that your method is better than the one that they published. Assuming that each die is rectangular and they are oriented side be side, that would make a lot of sense. Did you find a picture of the placement of the dies on the substrate anywhere?
