Re: Corsair PC8888 Dominator Series DDR2

hmm looks like the cheaper 8500C5D version is showing up soon at AUD$615 ($35 more than normal 8500C5 modules) http://www.scorptec.com.au/product/20291 that's pretty cheap considering DDR2 recent price rises where PC6400 memory has gone up nearly 30-50%

see it's even cheaper elsewhere too http://www.staticice.com.au/cgi-bin/....cgi?q=8500c5d

8888C4DF - AUD$912 http://pricepoint.com.au/shop/produc...oducts_id=3680

Re: Corsair PC8888 Dominator Series DDR2

The 8888 is just binned and special cooling for the 2.4Vdimm, I reckon the normal 8500 stuff with the sinks taken off ('kin useless anyway) and good active cooling could do as well with a good set

As soom as more ppl wanted the 6400 (in most demand) I knew the prices would go up, price gouging at its best

Yeah i think 8500C5D with 2.3-2.4v would probably out clock PC6400PHU2 HZ Gskills at same volts too.

Agreed but the HZ is cheeeeper, I still cant get over how much some ram has gone up

Just noticed that Mittoni have drastically reduced their G.Skill range

Re: Corsair PC8888 Dominator Series DDR2

yeah prices are skyrocketing i wouldn't be surprise to see PC6400PHU2 HZ go above AUD$550+ soon (doesn't help that Aussie dollar has weakened against US$ )
