Angry new AMD X2-3800 overclockering help :)

Hey All,

So I went out and replaced my 3200 venice with a x2-3800.

I have removed the IHS and stuck a Big TT on it.

I can run 2.6ghz on 1.30 volts (dbl prime 10hours+) which i reckon is pretty good.

But after 2.6ghz things go to hell, BSOD's etc etc.

So i try upping the volts to 1.35 or 1.375 or 1.4 (still at 2.6ghz) and i get BSOD's, hangs, slow windows loading.

whats up with that? shouldn't more volts make it more stable - even though im stable at 2.6ghz already?

anyways:
DFI Ultra-D
x2-3800 0618
muskin 2gb of pc4000
7900GT

cheers
dave

i think the memory is fine - remember i'm only bumping the cpu volts at this stage - no clock changes...

ill grab screens anyways (how do i post them? just URL??)

RAM testing is very important.......you have to make sure your RAM is OK as that could be throwing your OCs

Re: new AMD X2-3800 overclockering help :)

ok well i have been running this ram fine for a while, and the BSOD's occur even when the ram's on a divider...

like i said the only thing i change to cause BSOD's is changing the Vcore from 1.30 (or 1.325) upto 1.35, 1.375 or 1.4.

edit: why isn't my Sig working?
