Xeon W3565 Batch 3846A801T ... worth it?

Ok, so... i'm trying to win a Xeon W3565 with the batch number in the title.

Is it worth it? I mean, i found that is a "gem" or "golden batch" ... but ... are they all?

Presently i have a i7 930 running @ 4.4Ghz ... with 1.41vcore and 1.395 qpi *cof*cof*ht off*cof*cof... for 4.5 it's a huge voltage jump so... i think this is the max i can get for 24/7 ... and then, when i was checking some stuff on ebay ... Caboom! there it was... that T in the end made me smile...

But now i'm having second thoughts :P eheheh

Tell me your opinions about it.
I'm using a X58A-UD5 ... but i was thinking on getting a used UD7 24Phases ...

I know i know, i should get a SandyBridge... but...
Even "my grandma" ( if she was alive ) could do it eheheh if you know what i mean ... it's all about exploring and trying to get the best of you and the cpu ... :P

yup golden batches 3845, 3846, 3847, 3849 are known gem batches

The higher cpu multipler should ease your cpu vtt voltage requirements though

Thank you so much

That should indeed be a really nice batch. Have you tried raising QPI PLL voltage? Sometimes that helps with lowering vcore for high clocks with HT enabled.

Ohhh well... no i did not try Although, i'm not using HT because i really don't want too...

The last stable setting for 24/7 i did was 4.3Ghz HT on with 1.355 QPI and 1.375vcore ...
Not bad... but not good either :P

I saw some batches of that Xeon that were running like, 4.6Ghz HT On with 1.323vcore on CPU-Z ...
i was like "WOW" ... that's something!

But, i'm having a buyers remorse ... since 1366 is in EOL ... and is a freaking power house in terms of energy requirements :P ehehehhe

But i'm so tempted ... :P
I must get new ram ... going after a Kingston HyperX 2000 C8 ... since my Dominators are a point of trouble too ... i can't get pass 1680Mhz ... i thought it was BCLK/QPi fault but it was memory fault since i tested my BCLK up to 215 with SPD at 6x ... it went great, as soon as i got the 8x multiplier working, stability was gone... even boot was weird... getting the qpi and vcore up didn't give a single sign of stability increase...

So i isolated the memory, got the cpu multi down... and for example, working at 1688 ... bamm ... lots of bsod's memory related ... even at 1680 i can't work with 1T, must be with 2T :P

So... i'm really thinking on what to do...

My original thoughts were get

- X58A-UD7 ( rev 1 )
- W3565
- 6Gb Kingston ... KINGSTON HYPERX 6 GB KIT DDR3-2000 KHX2000C8D3T1K3/6GX

But then... what do you think... X58A-UD7 vs my UD5 ... huge improvement?

I was going to spend around 400 Euros ... ( kind of 500 USD ) ... just for overclocking purposes... :P And there was when my "buyer regrets" start to show up :P

If you can get your hands on some 2000 C8 HyperX, by all means go for it. Have you checked eva2000's results with that kit?

I Just saw it! Pretty good! Well, at least, i will know that instability in the system will not come from memory itself

Well, i'm bidding for the memory kit and for a UD7 rev 1 ...
lets see...

As for the W3565 ... anyone here, that lives in Germany and that can give me a hand with this? The seller is not that "open minded" ... ehehehe he doesn't let me buy since i don't have a german address ... jeez :x

Just managed to get the X58A-UD7 and 6Gb of Kingston Hypers C8 2000 sticks for... 250Euros

Now... after the Xeon ... that will be a more difficult battle
