Unable to Initialize/format Maxtor 200gb Sata2 drive

i have a problem trying to "initalize" my new maxtor DiamondMax 10 - 200gb sata2 drive.

it is displayed under bios/windows, just not under windows explorer.

so i tried to initialize it, i just end up freezing forever (1+ hour and still nothing)

if i close the manager, and open it it would just says "connecting to logical disk management service"

what is wrong with this? any other way to initalize my harddrive?

Ive also seen a "official" link to the problem somewhere in the NF4 chipset section....

possibly hanging off an angry_games post .....
