Talking i7 920 D0 - DFI UT X58-T3EH8 prime95/linx stability ?

hey i can post now.

hey eva can u post a 2000mhz CL7 prime 95 2 hours or 10 runs of linx/ibt 5gb
it allways hangs and requires more vtt voltage than memtest hci.
the problem seems to be the pwm frequency

anyway here is a d0 stepping confirmed ibt stable 20 rounds tested prior at stock voltage 4.2ghz ht off

SWEET D0! But normal for linx and Prime95 (blend especially) to require more CPU VTT

hmm my voltages are different
wondering how whether its the psu

if i set 1.65v i get 1.63v, i need 1.64v for my gt's so set at 1.665v
ioh/ich set 1.15 gets 1.13v
vtt set 1.45v gets idle 1.43 load 1.45v

but as before with my c0 same problem
ure linx ure stressing only 4 cores.. ( can tell from the completion time 255 secs. full 8 threads is less around 200s for 5.4gb) testing now lowered to 3.8 HT ON.

Yes psus will effect the different discrepancies between what set in bios versus what is measured real or with SG app.

My Corsair HX1000 over volts ever so slighty less for real vdimm than my Silverstone OP1200.

i.e.

1.635v vdimm HX1000 = 1.6355v real DMM and 1.64v SG
1.635v vdimm OP1200 = 1.6359v real DMM and 1.64v SG

could of sworn it was 100% cpu load stressed with 0.5.6

Not sure how D0 behave for memory/cpu vtt relationship, but all I know and tips are here. So playing with VCORE/VDIMM/CPU VTT balance is probably what you need to do. Also don't underestimate the improvement just playing musical chairs with each memory module tried in a different combination in same dimm slots

With C0 stepping results i've seen and experienced myself, it can be a fine balance so far come across 4 types of core i7 cpus from my rounds on forums and my own experience

Type 1 - core i7 cpus that need high to very high cpu vtt to overclock for memory and bclk.

Type 2 - core i7 cpus that like low-medium low cpu vtt to overclock for memory and bclk and scale with cpu vtt and memory voltage

Type 3 - core i7 cpus that only like low-medium low cpu vtt to overclock for memory and bclk BUT DO NOT scale for either cpu vtt and memory voltage or both

Type 4 - core i7 cpus that like cpu vtt close to vcore so you may find the cpu needs high vcore for lower clocks due to cpu vtt requirement for those clocks.

low cpu vtt = 1.3-1.35v
medium cpu vtt = 1.35-1.5v
high cpu vtt = 1.5-1.55v
very high cpu vtt = >1.55-1.65v

Now no idea where your D0 falls in or if it's totally a different beast in terms of CPU VTT behaviour.

Since you have GT memory modules, also check out Elpida 50nmm Hyper IC thread at http://i4memory.com/f83/core-i7-x58-...locking-15908/ could be related to your issue ?

nah think the stress test on the cpu doesnt matter
its the vtt voltage
linx ram at 1200mhz and 1600mhz pass ( CL6 no issue so the elpidas are fine)
2000mhz even at cl9 wont. even though memtest hci tested up to 5000 % ( yup left it for around 15 hours)
no clue as to why linx/prime blend will hang.
gaming no issue . benchies no issue.

actually that one i already tested also .
no difference
tested from 80 - 125 and vdimm from 1.665v set to 1.72v no diff
i did suspect it was a vtt issue
cause this issue is similar in RE
when the cmd/clk/ctl clock to dram nb and dram channel A/B vtt came to play. the linx hang was similar.

also weird part was memtest hci pass is actually set 1.65v
