Why do they run so hot?
Im using the 7000/cu, but ive also got 2x120mm side fans importing (DTA) Ducted Tasmanian Airę.

The equivelant to my cpu at ~2.66Ghz....is that due to the larger L2?
Problem solved with the MSI guy...yeah he was giving it too much volts

yeah the extra cache has roughly 200MHz impact on performance.

i'm not sure where i read that....i was going to email all these manufacturers but to be honest after 4 different NF4 motherboards I really CBF changing again.....having said that the new Expert mobo announced today looks yummy

i don't think that's the issue.......if you read it again he is basically saying AMD would kick their ass if they decided to officially support the CPUs......but I'm sure everyone will do so anyways.....they work OK so far so no big deal.....but it needs to be optimised for opteron as well....who know it could be bad bios support that's making these run a bit hotter than normal as well.....or this statement could be complete BS

i agree, amd wants to sell them as server cpu's, they have the venice/sandies for desktops, which arn't as well binned/tested.
