Talking 2 X Hitachi 7K80 SATA II in RAID 0

My 2 shiny new drives arrived yesterday thanks to Simline.Com , very fast service

Of course I set them up raid 0 on my Ultra D after first using the Hitachi Feature Tool to enable the 3.0GB/s setting with Spread Spectrum Clocking ENABLED and Acoustic Management @ default = Disabled

Stripe size was set @ 32k in the nVidia Raid Config Bios settup with windows installed at the default unit size.

Here is a shot of my first two runs imposed onto the one graph using HD Tach Ver. 3.0.1.0

All I can say ATM is that I am STUNNED

Was that fast or long runs?
Graph seems to have very few data points compared to when ive done runs.
Sexy as burst speeds there

Looks nice. But I have a dumb question. As I am a dumb user ( more lazy then dumb )

How do these drives compare to the WD Raptors?

Lets say I loading a BF2 Map. Which will be faster and roughly by how much? Not asking for exact figures here.

Also is there a special benefit in Raiding them in 0 apart from having 1 logical drive?

Thanks all.

You local dumb user. R6

According to my benchies that I will post pics of tomorror they equal 2 x 36GB Raptors for speed except you get heaps more space at nearly half the cost
