Since a majority of the news on the main page will probably be reviews, do you really need to list them all on the main page?
I think a dedicated link would be enough, similair to what XS and bit-tech have on their main pages.
So far, I like this one best of them all.
Seeing that massive list of active threads makes it seem like the index has its finger fully on the pulse of i4.
