While my area in Brisbane, South-East Queensland is unaffected right now, just a heads up that my state - Queensland is experiencing the worse floods in history with 75% of the state flooded and worse to come is on Thursday!
Some news sources of the updates
Update: Queensland folks can get alerts for their specific area via http://queenslandfloods.crowdmap.com/alerts Thoughts and prayers to all those affected. George |

Hope your safe George.
Living in Runcorn in an elevated position we have had no impact whatsoever (apart from a power surge leading to my PSU dying, now replaced with a Antec Quattro 1000w), thankfully. I was sent home from work in the CBD on Tuesday and told to stay at home, probably till Monday. I feel for all the people who have suffered in anyway but sadly we may have worse to come yet with predictions a "Cyclone" may be coming around the 28th which is going to make the situation a lot worse. Thoughts are with those who have suffered loses. If anyone in the Brisbane Region needs somewhere dry to store stuff etc I am sure I can find room in my garage, just send a tell. |

Glad to see you're safe as well. Like you, I am lucky to be untouched directly by the floods as I am no where near any creeks/streams that directly connect off the Brisbane river. It's unbelievable though as I use to live in the suburbs which have been flooded, Yeronga, Taringa and Indooroopilly (my old stomping grounds in high school and uni) and have/had friends in Toowong, St Lucia, and Sherwood during my uni days. Both my sister and my uni's as well, QUT, Gardens Point and University of Queensland, St Lucia! Just crazy
![]() Hopefully, that cyclone dies off before then! Off OCAU forums, Umart Milton http://umart.com.au/ ![]() ![]() UQ, ST Lucia http://www.uq.edu.au/news/index.html?article=22490 ![]() |
