Wrong memory detection P6X58-E WS

I actually called ASUS with this issue today and they directed me too: http://i4memory.com/f54/asus-x58-6-1...stalled-19200/

But that topic is totally greek to me... So I am starting my own topic to ask for help (go easy on me)

Board: Asus P6X58-E WS
Processor: i7 920
Memory: (x3) Corsair Vengeance 1600-Mhz (2x4GB)

So both the BIOS and Windows only detects 16GB out 24GB, However memtest, cpu-z, aida64 all see the full 24GB installed in the system. After a bunch of tinkering last night it seems to be something up with A1 and A2 on the board, the BIOS does not want to detect anything there.

I have tried setting some of the settings in the aforementioned topic above, but to no avail. Me being as nervous as I am, I ended up resetting the bios back to default settings just to be safe until some one can help.

Sorry if I am missing any critical information, let me know what else you need and I will provide it!

As far as I know detecting less memory than installed or no memory at all in certain slots can be caused by two things:
1. too much mounting pressure on the CPU cooler
2. IMC voltage is too small to handle the amount of memory installed in the system

Of course that's only true assuming nothing is broken.

You could try a little less pressure on the cooler.
If that doesn't help you'll have to go into the BIOS and with the settings that are provided in the link you posted.
