M2N32-SLI Deluxe-AM2 3800+ DC

I put the rig together last week, still much clocking and stuff to do but will report as i go.
Also have 2GB XMS Pro 6400C4, x1900XT and Coolermaster I-Green 500W PSU.
Currently only running stock cooler as i need an AM2 bracket for an Thermalright SL-120 i have.
I've tried to boot straight to 2.7Ghz but so far no go on any settings or volts.

CPU stepping is LDB4F 0622 XPMW.

Temps are a bit on the high side but like you said, the stock cooler is to blame for this.

Do you really need 1.4V to get it to 2.6Ghz? I'm guessing in that case it's close to the chips full potential.

Stock cooler is non-heatpipe, and the board overvolts the CPU by at least .02.
I got 2500Mhz on stock volts, even that overvolts to 1.42.

Does the Mn32 have an "CPU Overvolt" feature? If it does, disable this as it adds .2 to actual VCORE. Also if the board is like my old A8N32-SLI, it also adds .065 to specified vcore. So if you set it to 1.3V it will be 1.365V

No overvolt that i can find, there is a DDR2 offset. Mind you the way some of the features are labelled gets me.

Any chance you could get some pics of the BIOS screens?

Re: M2N32-SLI Deluxe-AM2 3800+ DC

So far the RAM has been running 480Mhz(DDR-960) fine without errors using 5-4-4-12 as the basic timings. I tell you it's very time consuming with so many options in this BIOS, a lot of them are still on Auto, 2.1volts seems a sweet spot and this is the voltage Corsair specify.

CPU vcore i have been playing with too, had it as low as 1.32 and 2300Mhz fully stable (since i had the crap stock HSF i thought i would try undervolting and max. CPU speed). ATM i'm using a S939 heatpipe HSF which has dropped temps by 5-6 c on both cores which is good, should have an AM2 bracket around end of August if the things get imported.

GFX- it does XTX speeds, not willing to go any further and happy with that.

Board- NO issues, has booted to 300HTT, since high HTT means SFA in performance i don't bother with lowering CPU multiplier for high HTT.

I will continue to explore RAM speed ,timings and performance.

Cooler Master I-Green 500W PSU has been a stellar performer so far, ok it only has 1 HDD and 1 optical but there is 3x80mm and 2x120mm case fans off that too.
Drops to 12.06 volts with several benchmark programs running, lowest it has gone.
