Eva, turns out I have exact code as yours... CCBWE 0544XPMW but different multiplier.

Well well well, hit the wall on the Asus with 1.5V giving me 2.7Ghz(maybe around 2.7X)

What next?

Using the Asus software I can select up to 1.65V but the moment I try to INCREASE the Vcore , it freezes.

Maybe it auto senses temp or what? Any idea how to use that piece of software?

I guess water will only add towards stability, wouldn't make it more efficient in terms of Vcore yeah?

regardless of air or water, for dual core cpus i wouldn't push more than 1.6v max for benchmarking or 1.55v for 24/7 due to their already low default vcore settings

Didn't I say, first day and a success without any hassle. 2.7Ghz on 1.5V. with stock cooler and everything inside the case enclosed.

Memory is serving me nicely- 2Gig Crucial Ballistix 246FSB 3-3-3-8 3 2 7 10 1T@ 2.6V.

I guess this is what differentiates Opteron with Desktop AMD CPUs, better heat tolerance. During Pi 32Meg the temps creeped up quite high...approx. 54 degrees. It might be a good idea to put this on water and enjoy the Dual Core at 2.7Ghz.

My Asus can only offer 1.5V maximum. 1.55V would have been great.

Well to reiterate my last query, do ya guys reckon water cooling can help achieve higher clock speed on a given Vcore? (efficiency)

Cheers

That all depends on how good your air cooling is

A well lapped and installed Tt BT performs nearly or as good as good WC

Which Anus are you using ??, I find it hard to believe only 1.5 Vcore, surely theres a modded bios

Asus SLI Premium...hmm dunno if there is any modded BIOS available for that board...would have been great.

For some reason the available Vcore option in the BIOS depends on the CPU for these boards. For instance, with my New Castle, it displayed up to 1.65V. With Venice, only 1.55V, now with Dual Core only 1.5V.
