[Team.AU] GTX580 Voltage Mod Video
Hi guys,
I made this video while i modified an nVidia GTX580 reference video card. Modifications performed are: Cold Bug (CB), Cold Boot Bug (CBB), GPU voltage (vGPU), and vMEM (Memory voltage). Hope it might help some guys to see what the modifications posted by Shamino look like in action. Hardest bit was actually getting the voltage read points to stick to the capacitors (using a low powered soldering iron doesn't produce enough heat) Be sure to view in 720p HD |

Awesome, how high can you go on vgpu before you need to hard mod? I was told you can get it right up with a modded smartdoctor or a modded MSI AB but I havent seen either yet. I have an EK vga Supreme on my 580 and it only hits mid 40's at full volts and 990 core, I was hoping to nudge the volts a little to get it past 1000, is this safe without sub-zero as long as the temps are still good? I found a Koolance GPU block on xs so Im thinking about having a go with DICE, so the mods will be useful for that anyway. Also my mem craps out pretty low. sometimes it will pass at 2150-2200 but often I have to reduce it to 2100 to get a pass, will vmem mod help this or is it askig for trouble without sub-zero?
If ths is in the wrong place just say so and I will start a new thread on it. Any help or input would be great. ![]() |

Seen a few people hammering their 580's at over 1000MHz core on water, safe or not I've no idea but they have stood up to it for some months now it seems.
