Question Can't get memory upgrade to work on UT X58-T3EH8

I've been very impressed with all of the community assistance that goes on here and am hoping that someone will have a suggestion that I haven't tried on my "upgrade gone wrong".

I'm working with a DFI UT X58-T3EH8 (latest stable BIOS LX58D429 installed). I'm trying to go from 6GB memory (3 x 2GB) to 24GB (6 x 4GB), which is the max for this board. I have everything in the BIOS set to dead-stock factory settings to minimize the possibility of screwing something up. I'd be perfectly happy to post the current settings if there is a way to extract those that someone knows about...

My issue is this: I can install any three of the 4GB sticks in the correct #2, #4, and #6 slots in any order and everything boots and works fine. As soon as I try to go to 4 sticks (which should work in slot #s 1,2,4,6 according to the manual) or 6 sticks (in all slots), I get a POST code of "3F" and the screen gets stuck on the LAN Party splash screen when trying to boot.

According to the POST code chart for this MB that I've seen elsewhere on this forum, POST code "3F" corresponds to "Reserved" ... not tremendously helpful.

I'm not shooting for any records or getting the memory to run super fast, I'm just trying to get it to run...

Any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome!

more cpu vtt and vdimm memory voltage and lower than stock rated mem frequency for 6x4GB most likely needed.

read and make sure to test cpu vtt and vdimm memory combinations, only trial and error testing will help as no magic formula exists as every cpu's mem controller differs.
