Thank you kind sir!

I have only ever taken the Vcore to a little over 1.4 BIOS volts as yet, but looks as though your up rather high already what's your idle and load temps like at that setting?
Yes Vcore is a little high, de-lid would help me thinks but cant be bothered really as running @ 2.8GHz practically 24/7 even under torture load only gets to ~ 44C in summer

I was thinking about 'popping' the IHS on mine.....but decided against it, my hands are not as steady as they used to be and knowing my luck i'd end up with a nice paper weight! I'm happy with it at 2.8 anyway, anymore is a bonus!

Those temps are pretty good considering the Vcore your using , mine has hit into the low 40's even with my low Vcore, but being on a single Rad and the Ambient temps i have had here lately it's not surprising!

Thinking about testing my Activecool unit on the 170 soon, be interesting to see if it decreases temps or not.

Talking

What a day!!!!

I decided to swap my HZ's over to pair up with my 150 just to see if i got any better performance and oc'ability running 1:1 than using my ZX's on a divider....

So while i was booting up my 150 box i put the ZX's into the A8N SLi with the 170, anyway i forgot to go into BIOS on this 1 and re-configure the ZX ram, tried booting it up and of course having the HZ's settings didn't allow this, so when i realized what was wrong i reset BIOS and was going to go back in to fix when the phone rang....needless to say i didn't get to do it!

When i came back in the room the 170 was all booted up and sitting at the desktop, excellent i thought all ready to go, launched CPUZ and i almost fell over!!! it was reading 3013MHz , i was thinking ok this can't be right, opened up Clockgen and sure enough it was correct, even opened Systools and that also had the same reading, so i thought ok i will do a quick 1m run, it passed, ok 2m run..passed...i then went to change a ram timing and the whole thing froze ....doh!

Anyway rebooted and went back to desktop and now it was reading stock 2GHz , tried rebooting a few times but still reading stock, so i thought i will check BIOS and see what's going on, ram timings were what i had set them to but the CPU config had all resorted to AUTO for everything, so straight away i upped HT to 301 and then manually set all timings to what AUTO had chosen and then rebooted...

Check out the result and where i'm up to now:

This was with Vcore @ 1.425 BIOS volts and timings as set by BIOS and not touched since.

Probably not the best 16m run but i will see how far i can push it then concentrate on tightning up, ram was using 133 divider and timmings defaulted to 2.5-3-3-5 from the standard 2-3-2-5.

Just thought i would update before i see if it passes 32m.

More to come.

Patience Grasshopper!!

Well finally a 32m run at 3GHz , had to put MAL up to 8 as 7 would error on loop 19.

Now to see how long Stress Prime lasts....then maybe some 05 runs all though it's a bit pointless with the X1600XT , which reminds me, my 'new' vid card should be arriving any day now

I'll get some SP shots up later on tonight, if it lasts for that long!

Well looks like i have a lot more work to do in Stress Prime , starting SP and Core 0 errors straight away where as Core 1 keeps going fine, any suggestions on what i should try or change in my last posting of my settings to try and get SP stable?
