Well just an update.
Things went excellent last night 275 x10.5 1.4125v @ 2.85v
memtest no fails

Woke up this morning, turn on and no boot.
re did bios and back up again.

Now this has me stumped

maybe the ASUS fairy came during the night and drugged my horse

So passing memtest rock solid means the RAM is ok?
Is that right eva2000?

passing memtest depends on how long you run it and that only means you pass memtest, doesn't mean mem will be 100% in windows.. after memtest it's windows stability tests http://i4memory.com/AMD64

and with the EB's you'll need to also check 3d stability, as there is a difference between 3d/superpi/memtest with these kits
