it should easily peel off. Please don't use a knife, it is plastic can only be done with your finger cos its like glad wrap that sticks well.

NOTE: If you're happy with your temperature then its fine, my motherboard temperatures were around 47-50 degrees load. The main culprit is the second G70 which sort of sits right above the southbridge heat sink and it liberates fair amount of heat But in anycase, the thin plastic is supposed to be removed when you first assemble. And no, its not detriment!

ic, maybe it wasn't there for you.

Mine, load used to be 47- 50 degrees, after removing the plastic, it went down to 42-45 degrees.

Mine idles @ 34c and load max 39c.

I have 2 G71 and the heat don't change the MB temp, I have tried just 1 card in slot 1 and the temps were the same. Maybe my case and fans help

Do you water cool your G71s??

BWT, I put my first CPU water cooling setup yesturday, loving it. Used Gigabyte Galaxy water cooling- it was so easy to assemble and everything fits in so nicely. On the cosmetical aspects of things, it looks mad, especially the blue light.

I was having USB issues but not as severe as Swing's. Disabling USB legacy fixed this tho. I did some testing over the weekend and it looks like this new BIOS might have fixed the USB issues. I re-enabled USB legacy and my system is still rock solid, performance seems a bit better too but I have no concrete proof of this.
