I've returned after my OC hiatus.

Did some BCLK testing today. Got some interesting results and PB's on this board. All results were boot from BIOS.

230 BCLK

235 BCLK

240 BCLK

So I thought I'd test how stable that was with my favourite 2D test, SPI32M. Results as follows:

SPI32M @ 230 BCLK

SPI32M @ 235 BCLK

SPI32M @ 240 BCLK

Just hadn't tried using slow mode. I new my board was limited to ~8000 MT/s QPI data link rate, and new it killed 3D performance so I initially had no interest in trying it. Then just though why not give it a go to see what my CPU and board could do and when I saw that, I had to try 32M For laughs I also tried Prime95 at 235 BCLK and it ran fine for maybe 40mins until I stopped it. That was at ~1.34v Vtt real too heh, and 1.35vIOH BIOS giving around 1.30vIOH real. Not bad for a R2E with rev2 IOH from what I've seen.

My R2E is now powering my Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V host, so it won't see much OC anymore. You gotta keep it alive CryptiK!

Is there any benefit having the qpi above 8000? And if there is, what would it benefit? higher graphics bandwidth?

Cheers.

No real benefit as such when compared to normal QPI data link rate speeds of 7000 - 8000 MT/s but if you use slow mode, which significantly drops the QPI data link rate, the 3D performance is appalling.

Nah this is my actual PC, I don't bench it, just wanted to see what it could do as I was inquisitive. It's up to the guys that still bench them to keep it alive heh

I was getting into benching with standalone bench gear but I just don't have the time.
