Thanks for the feedback to you both. I have now set the BIOS as per the images above. Although I'm pretty sure I've done that before.

I will report back tomorrow with my findings, when cold booted

Same problem this morning, only showing 8GB of RAM. I have attached a CPU-Tweaker screenshot, it's showing all 6 six module slot filled with 2GB modules. So it sees the RAM allright.

tried bumping QPI/DRAM to 1.375-1.40v and DRAM memory volts (vdimm) to 1.7v and see how it goes.

Tried everything now for a month Today the dealer replaced my motherboard with a brand new one.

12GB showed up on the first boot!!

Still sceptic though, I will report back tomorrow with my findings!

This morning it showed 10GB RAM. So there is progress

The difference between the old board and new is, that changing the BIOS values as described by eva2000 above, now actually works!! After changing the values all 12GB are showing without me having to cold boot the PC.

So far all seems good, I will report back if anything changes.

Thanks to all for help

Newest findings:

1) When cold booted it only shows 10GB RAM, no matter the BIOS settings
2) Only workaround is to turn off PSU and start up again.

When done all 12GB shows and PC runs perfectly. I'm seriously considering the CPU as the culprit here.

Am I far off with that conclusion??

Thanks

Hi Jim,

I have the same problem. On Cold boot it recognize 10GB only. After turning off the PC all 12GB are seen for all the day. No need to turn off the PSU, no need to wait for OS to load. While booting the first time I press the power button to turn off and on again.
Or if at the cold boot I go into the BIOS and do some major changes in the settings (switching from Auto to XMP Profile for example) then the next reboot will take more time (while booting I hear the fans are turned off for a couple of seconds) and voilá, all 12GB are seen. But at the next cold reboot 10GB again. Everyday before turning of the PC I try new BIOS settings hoping that at the next cold boot it will recognize 12GB. I tried also the suggested settings here in the forum, but no luck so far. No crash, freeze or random problems, memtest86 ran perfectly for 5 hours on 12GB.

ASUS P6X58D-E
Corsair 12GB - HX3X12G1600C9 set at DDR-1600
Intel i7 930 at stock speed
Enermax PSU PRO82+ 625W

bye
Andrea
