Unhappy Rampage III Extreme Memory Issue

My system has 12 gb (3x4) of memory installed but is only showing 8gb in POST and Windows. It does show 12gb in CPU-Z. I put together this setup about a week ago and at first it showed 12gb in windows. Today I was using the computer and it blue screened and after rebooting I noticed this issue. Here are my system specs:

Rampage III Extreme
Intel i7-960
Asus GTX570
Corsair Vengeance 12gb (3x4) CMZ12GX3M3A1600C9

I was using the stock BIOS settings before but I tried this also:

Hi hounddog,
try this: Memory Recheck - Enabled
I'm with R2E and 6x2GB GSkill Trident 1600Mhz and had similar issue. That option resolved my problem.

also you need more qpi/dram core volts put 1.35 and dram bus voltage needs atleast 1.65 - 1.7v

Thanks guys for your help. I tried doing what both of you said

CPU Voltage 1.237 [Auto]
CPU PLL Voltage 1.680 [1.68275]
QPI/DRAM Core Voltage 1.349 [1.35]
DRAM Bus Voltage 1.654 [1.65625]

When I raise the dram bus voltage it says "According to Intel CPU SPEC, DIMMs with voltage setting over 1.65V may damage CPU permanently!!." Not sure if that is normal, but I still did it. I also tried lowering the Dram bus voltage to 1.6 after trying 1.65.

It wouldn't boot with Memory Recheck enabled. So I disabled it and it would boot, but still showing 8gb. Any other ideas?

I tried using the memory in my dad's machine and his said 8gb instead of 12gb also. I am thinking of returning for a refund and trying some diffrerent memory.

Do you think I would be better off with the corsair xms3 cas 7 3x2gb or the vengeance cas 9 3 x4gb? Seems lots of people have issues with 4gb sticks. Both are 1600mhz. Or is there something better at same price range?

Tried reading suggestions at http://i4memory.com/f54/asus-x58-6-1...stalled-19200/ ? Even simple act of remounting cpu cooler could allow proper detection of all memory modules.
