Yeh unfortunately I don't do any of that apart from ripping the occasional DVD.

Games is what I mainly use the grunt for.

Yes I agree 100% but I'm at that impossible point of upgrading where I wanna spend big on a GFX card but I don't want to because these goddam DX10 cards are still not out. I'm considering buying another 7900GT for some SLI goodness to tide me over.

Re: Jammer's Asus P5W-DH and E6600, update page 2!

you'll minimise your loss if you dump your GT in the next couple of weeks.

Here's the maths.

7900GT.... sell 2 weeks time for $350ish maybe more if you're lucky

Buy X1950XTX or 7950GT at launch....... 669 at the most. 7950 will be a bit cheaper.

Total cost out of poocket $319

To buy another 7900GT would be money down the toilet.
Cost $400+....... already $100 more on the above solution.

Wait for DX10 cards........ at launch they cost $700+
What will your "old" 7900GT's be worth ? $200 at the most.

So waiting for DX10 could cost you well over a grand.

Selling a X1950 or 7950 just before DX10 launches won't be hard at all because they are still "current".... your loss will be minimal.

theory works for me and always has. I've never "lost" more than $200 on any video card I've ever owned, simply because I don't hold to them long enough and I don't buy "top end".

That does make sense I guess. So which one looks better? The 1950 or the 7950GT?
