just got my PC3-16000 7-8-7 Blades Thursday night, expect the OC Report in a couple hours or sooner...depending on how lazy i am.

@ Black Dragon...so you were doing fine with the memory and after updating the BIOS to 5/08 you are having problems? or were you running 5/08 all along and now just out of the blue having issues? TIA
Looking forward to your Blades review. You tend to set the bar pretty high for yourself

Completely different cpu than my previous DDR3-2000 posts, so it could just be a crappy mem controller. Haven't tried on any earlier BIOSes yet because its a D0 and this bets is supposed to help out with elpida. But the fact that I can run 6-6-6-18-1T with 1.20 vtt and 1.60vdimm at 20 x 200 on the Bclk*8 multi with 1.248 vcore suggests to me I shouldn't be hitting such a wall so quickly.

I can run 20x160 with the Bclk*10 divider with the same vtt, vdimm, vcore, timings, etc...no problem. If I try and run 7-8-7-20-1T 20 x 170 Bclk*10 it won't even make it thru 3 loops of hyperpi before I get a BSOD Driver not less or equal.

So I need to figure out how to break thru this wall first...I'm hoping it isn't uncore limited.
the only way i have that issue is by setting the bootup bclk to auto

try different boot ups
exmaple bclk 200
the min for the bootup bclk so far for me is bclk - 20.
-25 is a no go.
-20 is borderline and sometime has the 4gb detect issues
-15-5 is pretty good but i think it depends on latencies
CL6/CL7 is pretty good at -15
while CL8-CL9 is at -5
