just feeling it out results
some 03
I had the mod on for about an hour or so total.
i used a 100k vr
stock volts 1.01v 2d 1.10v 3d
max clocks were 750ish for all 3d,no vantage tests yet was able to run 770 stock in that one

vr set 98K
here i used 1.14-15v 3d
770/1690/1230
x3 rounds of 03's 3d tests in a row
temps look ok

vr set to 91k
1.20-22v 3d
multi runs np
about .10v added
790/1769/1230

if i get some time this week i'll test it alittle more and push up the volts
i'm trying 06 now
this mod is easy 45-50mgz add on with stock h/s so far

man this mod point makes one my smr caps smoke,i'd wait for a better spot or not bother.
i'm lucky i had half a clue, and was tenitive or that card would have been toast...even at lower volts like 1.25.
i replaced the cap and all seems well
need a better spot or your really gunna have to mod more then volts.

this card is not half a 295,all it has is its core not pcb hardware.

it worked for me but try at your own risk

They must have a pretty insubstantial PWM circuitry if you smoked a cap under 1.25v.....

Sure it was a cap and not a mosfet or nearby component? Perhaps an inductor on the opposite side of the card? I've never seen a surface mount cap go first, or at all for that matter.

EDIT - the OP in the linked thread also blew a cap. Heh, maybe need to replace them (perhaps other parts too) if you want to run 1.25v+
