yeah it seems that Telstra controls that as i didnt try flashing firmware nor would i know where to start

now that i am getting MAX speed it's obvious telstra is throttling connecting to up to 125 most likely. I bet if they lifted the throttle it would go past 300, maybe they will lift it when NBN kicks in to keep cable people happy HAHAHAH

here's hoping it's an artificial throttle limit that can be increased

Connection just done a few minutes ago with Netgear CG3100 Cable Modem

Installer say it was one of the easier install jobs done - had existing Telstra cable outlet from several years back so was just plug and play

indeed... now all I need is to find a VPN service for work with clients to connect overseas and still keep such speed... very unlikely LOL

ping times don't seem to be consistent

well i isolated high pings to just my main pc and laptop, every other pc in the network has 5-10ms pings, just my main pc and laptop hit 500+ ms pings

from pc in living room = 2.4Mbps upload even!

my main pc

Only difference is main pc's connection comes via HP 1810G Procurve switch and yesterday on initial connection by Telstra I had pings of 9ms so it was working fine on main pc. But last night through to today 500+ ms pings.

Any ideas ?
