4 x 512mb Value VX on DFI?

hey guys, just wondering if it is advisable to run 4 x 512mb value vx bh-5 sticks on my dfi lanparty ut nf4 and how well will it compare with 2 x 1gb?

I've currently 2 x 512mb on hand and find it a hassle to sell and then buy a new pair since I've long since lost the packaging for my sticks of ram and sending it interstate will be pretty dodgy.

Thanks for any help .

They will run, but you maybe restricted to a mediocre overclock on the RAM and 2T timing (the A64 memory controller is also partly to blame for this).

If you are resticted to 2T, expect a 10-20% reduction in performance (depending on the task, although it is usually the write that gets effected the most). I guess it all comes down to what you will primarily be using your PC for.

If you plan to sell your RAM, send me a PM, I may be interested as I need a set for my HTPC

I think even know it's running on 2T lol. I doubt I want to overclock the ram...i just use a multiplier to overclock the cpu but leave the ram @ stock mhz. Looks like I'll be getting another 2x512mb...

You might already be stuck underclocking the ram. Doesnt the memory controller sometimes revert the ram to DDR333 2T. And sometimes DDR400 is even unbootable
