Air Conditioned Coolermaster !!

Just thought I'd give it a shot. :D

Just a bit of background.

CPU is a X2-3800+ with a mild overclock to 2.4ghz. Using stock cooler
CPU voltage is 1.5v (chip needs it to be stable, yes I know its not great)

Temps before A/C mod were idle 34c and full load 57c.
Regardless of whether the temp monitor on the board is accurate or not, some really warm air was coming out the back.

As you can see my temps have dropped very nicely :-)

The duct is a "Badong" (yes I know the name is ridiculous) and 4 65mm bits of pipe.
Total cost $31. !!

Idle Temp 18c

Full Load both cores 38c
I'm very happy with it and seeing as my A/C is on all the time I'm used to the noise which isn't bad at all IMO.

(Apologies for the dodgy pics)

Wow! :thumb:

Nice and economical, but do you keep it on during the winter too?

graham_h 19-01-2006 12:01 AM

I might keep it on in the winter. still stays pretty warm here :D

Oh well as my poor old X2 needs some volts here's what I've got.

Full load temp of 42c

definitely helps temps doesn't it :)

but does it help max oc ?

graham_h 19-01-2006 12:18 AM

dunno really........ as you can see my chip is rubbish.
needs a bucket of volts to get stable.
Still on the stock heatsink too :)

Still it is 100% stable at that so maybe 2.6 and a bit is possible but I really can't be bothered.

a solid 2.5 will do I reckon. Seems pointless grabbing an opty now and maybe get 200mhz more if I'm lucky

why not take side cover off case and have aircon blow cold air straight in

Because that wouldn't look as cool and be waaaayy too easy:dot:
