P45-DS4P Q9450 Ram limit 520mhz ?
This is a discussion on P45-DS4P Q9450 Ram limit 520mhz ? within the Gigabyte Intel Motherboard / CPU forums, part of the Intel motherboards / CPU category; The mb seems to have hit a limit with the ram at 520.8mhz It couldnt reach 500mhz without getting errors ...

| P45-DS4P Q9450 Ram limit 520mhz ?
The mb seems to have hit a limit with the ram at 520.8mhz It couldnt reach 500mhz without getting errors in memtest86 test 4 till I set Performance Enhance from Turbo to Standard Then the next limit was reached at 519mhz where memtest86 and prime95 would run ok but if i take the fsb even 1mhz higher it wont post Changing Channel A&B Driving Settings from auto to OC-1333 allowed it to go up one more mhz fsb before the same problem was reached again The mb and cpu are prime stable at 488fsb 3.9ghz with the ram 1:1 but it starts reaching the same memory limit in 1:1 if i oc much further Last time i tried the 2x1g micron d9 i ran into the same problem but i will try again now that i have the f6 bios So if anyone has some tips for how i may get past this limit would be great thanks q9450 water cooled 2x2g patriot 444 800 2.2v 4870x2 pcp&c 510 GIGABYTE GA-EP45 CPU Clock Ratio: 9x CPU Frequency: 3472Mhz Clock Chip Control Standard Clock Control CPU Host Clock Control: [Enabled] CPU Host Frequency(Mhz): 434 PCI Express Frequency(Mhz): 100 Mhz C.I.A. 2: [Disabled] Advanced Clock Control [Press Enter] CPU Clock Drive: 800 PCI Express Clock Drive: 800 CPU Clock Skew: 0 MCH Clock Skew: 0 DRAM Performance Control Performance Enhance: [Standard] Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.): (G)MCH Frequency Latch: [Auto] System Memory Multiplier: 2.4b 5:6 Memory Frequency (Mhz): 1041Mhz DRAM Timing Selectable: [Manual] Standard Timing Control CAS Latency Time: 5 tRCD: 5 tRP: 5 tRAS: 16 Advanced Timing Control [Press Enter] tRRD: 5 tWTR: 5 tWR: 13 tRFC: 52 tRTP: 5 Command Rate (CMD): AUTO >>>>> Channel A Channel A Timing Settings: [Press Enter] Static tRead Value: 10 Channel B Timing Settings: [Press Enter] Static tRead Value: 10 Motherboard Voltage Control CPU Vcore: 1.45v CPU Termination | 1.200V: 1.300v CPU PLL | 1.50V: v CPU Reference | 0.760V: v AUTO CPU Reference2 | 0.800V: v AUTO MCH Core | 1.100V: 1.32v MCH Reference | 0.800V: v AUTO MCH/DRAM Ref | 0.900V: v AUTO ICH I/O | 1.500V: v AUTO ICH Core | 1.100V: v AUTO DRAM Voltage | 1.800V: 2.18v DRAM Termination | 0.900V: v AUTO Channel A Reference | 0.900V: v AUTO Channel B Reference | 0.900V: v AUTO Advanced Bios Features Limit CPUID Max. to 3: [Disabled] No-Execute Memory Protect: [Disabled] CPU Enhanced Halt (C1E): [Disabled] C2/C2E State Support: [Disabled] x C4/C4E State Support: [Disabled] CPU Thermal Monitor 2(TM2): [Disabled] CPU EIST Function: [Disabled] Virtualization Technology.: [Disabled] anything not listed above is most likely still set at stock settings |

tried raising the fsb in windows and was able to increase the fsb and ram speed to ~450-460fsb i think it was and it was still able to run 8m pi and 10min of prime95 without any problems so its just a posting problem i think the 2x1g 444-12 800 team x micron d9 hits the same limit but i also tested it with one stick of ram this time which allowed it to reach 460fsb 5:6 before memtest started to error in test 5 increasing the ram v reduced the errors so i guess it finally reached the rams limit instead of another mb limit so any ideas what settings may get past this 520mhz post limit when using two sticks of ram? |

try even higher tRFC say 60-88+ and static tread 11 with MCH volts between 1.4-1.48v 9450 quad core also stresses the memory controller more and Gigabyte P45 is already not that great for 2x1GB dual channel compared to others for tight settings let alone 2x2GB memory clocks + 9450. |

| Thanks for the tip im afraid it didnt help but it did get me to have another go at the ram ![]() this time i tried tightening timings and seeing how much i could lower the v and threw some fluke there seems to be something it likes about these settings as the limit is gone http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y83.../ram540mhz.jpg CPU Host Frequency(Mhz): 450 PCI Express Frequency(Mhz): 100 Mhz C.I.A. 2: [Disabled] Advanced Clock Control [Press Enter] CPU Clock Drive: 800 PCI Express Clock Drive: 800 CPU Clock Skew: 0 MCH Clock Skew: 0 DRAM Performance Control Performance Enhance: [Turbo] Extreme Memory Profile (X.M.P.): (G)MCH Frequency Latch: [Auto] System Memory Multiplier: 2.4b 5:6 Memory Frequency (Mhz): 1080Mhz DRAM Timing Selectable: [Manual] Standard Timing Control CAS Latency Time: 5 tRCD: 5 tRP: 5 tRAS: 15 Advanced Timing Control [Press Enter] tRRD: 3 tWTR: 3 tWR: 6 tRFC: 48 tRTP: 3 Command Rate (CMD): AUTO >>>>> Channel A Channel A Timing Settings: [Press Enter] Static tRead Value: 8 Channel B Timing Settings: [Press Enter] Static tRead Value: 8 Motherboard Voltage Control CPU Vcore: 1.35v CPU Termination | 1.200V: Normal CPU PLL | 1.50V: v Normal CPU Reference | 0.760V: v AUTO CPU Reference2 | 0.800V: v AUTO MCH Core | 1.100V: Normal MCH Reference | 0.800V: v AUTO MCH/DRAM Ref | 0.900V: v AUTO ICH I/O | 1.500V: v AUTO ICH Core | 1.100V: v AUTO DRAM Voltage | 1.800V: 2.2v DRAM Termination | 0.900V: v AUTO Channel A Reference | 0.900V: v AUTO Channel B Reference | 0.900V: v AUTO managed this 3dm yesterday now to see if these settings help me break the 500fsb limit ![]() 3DMark06 22796 http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=8079641 SM 2.0 Score 8787 SM 3.0 Score 10907 CPU Score 6424 q9450@4ghz 1.5125v ep45-ds4p 500fsb 2x1g micron d9 1:1 444-12 2.28v 4870x2 stock |

try performace enhacer to standered.(Mostly) = more stable... You owe me a nice thanks if it woks. If its d9 ram i dont see why it wont hit wot you want. GL ![]() edit you did this My bad, i think you should just put the divider to 2. My 2x2gb micron new ic 800 will not do 1200mhz 2.3 and i wasnt gonna put it ubder more heat. |
