You gonna use a controller card for your tests, or have you got an areca stashed away ready for these babies? I hear to get most from these drives a real top notch raid card is preferred over the standard ICH9/10... I suppose thats common sense, but I'm slightly resistant to spending a couple of hundred quid on one.
Oh yeah and those test figures are interesting, seeing as single drives the smaller ones are faster and then when you look at the RAID results with the 64/128 drives the 64 array is slower than the 128... reversal of performance is wierd.

meh, the delivery date for these has been pushed back to August 21st... Really irritating when they paper launch without enough units available to stock the shops. OCZ are a quality company, but it has to be said they hype stuff too early and too much, cryo-z anyone?

rofl @ cryo-z comment but so true.
OCZ are the masters of hype and paper launchers. Even the OCZ reps I've dealt with hype the crap out of the products and then take forever to come through (if they do at all).
Any idea how these will compare to the Patriot 'Warp' SSD just announced the other day?

Yeah delays in OZ too
Josh no idea about Patriot warp but i think most recent SSD are all same or close specs anyway ?
As to OCZ's delayed launches - my own opinion is that ever since OCZ went public, timeliness of innovation to market launch has slowed alot more. I liked it better when OCZ was a private company when they didn't have shareholders to watch over their backs
edit: word from OCZ is that it's basically demand > supply right now they can't build them and ship them fast enough as demand is very strong right now

Possibly a good thing the delay. Ripped this from n00bCAU:
http://www.micron.com/products/real_ssd/ssd/index.aspx
These look like the real deal of SSD's.

Yeah I may hold on for the micron ones. It all depends on the price though, I aint gonna pay over Ł100 for a drive.
