My 4x32 GB Ocz Core Series Raid 0
Old 18-10-2008, 04:46 PM   #1 (permalink)

Well I got these today and fooled around with them.

I got the V1 series because ocz said they have had problems with the v2 series.

This is on my P5B Deluxe MB with Intel ICH9 Raid Controller.

Drives are configured in ports 00-01-02-03 with my 500 GB in 04 and DVD in 05

SATA Cables was the 18 guage very thick ones with clips.

Benchmark is done with Raid 0 128k Stripe

Not Bad I can say.

Just a Quick note. Crysis Warhead last map the big one loaded in 9 sec flat.

Sweet, wonder what's diff between v1 and v2.1 firmware on OCZ SSD Core V1s ?

ICH9R does seem slightly faster than ICH10R when it comes to SSD disks/raid i think

Got some ATTO bench, everest and pcmark05 numbers ?

I have it now configured right. Disk cache enable. But not powerprotect cache. Prefetcher is off. Also I noticed its based on CPU speed so I turned off C1E support so my CPU would stay at 3 ghz all the time. Here is the results.

HD Tach 3

HDtune 2.55

ATTO

It runs pretty sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice, that burst rate is crazy

looks like there maybe some truth in making sure the SSD are in the SATA port order rather than skipping a port or two to plugin SSDs for raid onboard

Burst Rate is based on CPU speed if you have a core 2 duo turn off the C1E support

Hey,
Nice post but the images have been removed. What kind of Read and Write did you get?
Also, what did you use to put the drives into your desktop? I mean they are 2.5" and desktops have 3.5".

I'm planning on doing the same setup but with 2x 64gb OCZ v2 disks in RAID 0. Do you think I will get a good performance gain over using 2x 500gb 7200RPM disks in RAID 0?
