Very impressive results eva2000. Seems like the 980x doesn't mind the 12GB, IMC is very strong. If you are a perfectionist like me you can buy more STTs to have them all at even 900MHz, but being off by a little bit literally makes no real world difference. Maybe even in benchmarking the different won't be noticeable. Are you going to test for higher speeds? |

Got some more toys in today to go along with my 3x2GB Super Talent DDR3-2000 C7 kit ![]() As you can see below, two of the sticks have black PCBs but one has a green PCB ![]() ![]() These actually say "Speed" unlike the C7 sticks. ![]() ![]() Interestingly the two with the black PCB have the same "MM#" (whatever that is) while the green one is different. ![]() ![]() Despite the different colors all sticks use 8-layer Brain Power PCB. ![]() |

Yea that is interesting regarding the different colored PCB stick. It would be interesting to see how they all compare, esp the green to the two blacks. Don't know what MM#s are but I'm assuming it's somethnig like a serial #? You're CL7 kit sticks all had the same MM#s right? Seems like you got a "dual" kit and a single. Let's hope the green doesn't turn to be the outcast... |

| By eva2000 I haven't had a lot of time to test them much, my initial feeling is that they're pretty much the same as the 2000 C7 sticks. I used nearly the exact same settings for DDR3-1740 6-6-6-20 1T.

Yeah they look to be aggressively binned or at least consistently binned If you notice in everest spd the XMP Extreme profile lists 879mhz 6-6-6-20 1.65v as rated specs - 2x2GB Super Talent 2200C8 XMP Extreme Profile spdSeems 6x2GB isn't as much fun on i7 980X with safe cpu vtt volts. Might need much higher cpu vtt and vdimm than 3x2GB, that's what i'm finding with 980X and 6x2GB 2200C8 stuff - pretty much DDR3-1800Mhz and looser timings 8-9-8-x and 9-9-9-x is the limit if i want to keep cpu vtt <1.5v - as i7 980X best to keep below 1.4-1.5v. So probably leave 6x2GB to when i test on bloomfield cpus for 1.55+ cpu vtt. 6x2GB 2200C8 at <DDR3-1700 is okay for CAS6/7 which is expected for 6x2GB unmatched dual channel kit operation. |
