| Administrator | OCZ Platinum DDR3-1333Mhz 7-7-7-24 (OCZ3P1333LVA6GK 'Animal Series') memory modules are Micron DDR3-1866-2000Mhz CAS9 binned ICs sprinkled into the regular OCZ Platinum DDR3-1333Mhz series and are differentiated by the 'A' in the product code.
Update: 08/08/09 - Tony from OCZ has reported the Animal series kits have revised ICs, instead of Micron 2000Mhz binned ICs, they now can be any ICs which are capable of doing 1866Mhz speeds but dropped into Animal based OCZ Platinum 1333Mhz OCZP1333LVA6K SKU model. Straight from Tony: By Tony Let's see how these modules do on Asus P6T6 WS Revolution.
Back to Back CAS# Delay was left on AUTO which defaults to value of 0. The default Command Rate (DRAM Timing Mode) when set to AUTO seems to change to 2T at high memory frequency CAS9 memory clocks. So I decided to run DDR3-2000Mhz 9-9-9-24 2T first and then manually set to 1T DRAM Timing Mode for a 2nd set of benchmarks as follows:

Continue testing of 6GB OCZ Platinum DDR3-1333Mhz 7-7-7-24 (OCZ3P1333LVA6GK 'Animal Series') kit but with voltage bumps for single Super Pi 32M stability. For DDR3-2058Mhz 9-9-9-24 1T I tested different Back to Back CAS# Delay values, AUTO (0) vs 6 vs 10. B2B value of 8 for some reason resulted in memtest86+ v2.11 test #2 errors while the other values of AUTO (0), 6 and 10 didn't have such errors. 32M Pi difference between B2B AUTO (0) and 10 was only 3.063 seconds slower at 10 but a 17.6% and 9.96% drop in Everest Read and COPY bandwidth respectively. For DDR3-2108Mhz 9-9-9-24 1T at 1.74v I only tested B2B value of AUTO (0). click on image for full screenshots DDR3-2058Mhz 9-9-9-24 1T at 1.68v vdimm B2B = AUTO (0) ![]() ![]() B2B = 10 ![]() Everest Ultimate - B2B AUTO(0) vs 6 vs 10 17.6% and 9.96% drop in Everest Read and COPY bandwidth respectively. ![]() Bios Settings Used Code: **************************** AI Tweaker **************************** AI Overclock Tuner: Manual CPU Ratio Setting: 20X BCLK Frequency: 206 PCIE Frequency: 100 DRAM Frequency: DDR3-2063Mhz UCLK Frequency: 4126Mhz QPI Link Data Rate: AUTO ******************* DRAM Timing Control ******************* DRAM CAS Latency: 9 DRAM Clock DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay : 9 DRAM Clock DRAM RAS# PRE Time: 9 DRAM Clock DRAM RAS# ACT Time: 24 DRAM Clock DRAM RAS# to RAS# Delay: AUTO DRAM REF Cycle Time: 88 DRAM WRITE Recovery Time: AUTO DRAM READ to PRE Time: AUTO DRAM FOUR ACT WIN Time: AUTO DRAM Back-To-Back CAS# Delay: AUTO DRAM Timing Mode: AUTO DRAM Round Trip Latency on CHA: AUTO DRAM Round Trip Latency on CHB: AUTO DRAM Round Trip Latency on CHC: AUTO DRAM WRITE To READ Delay(DD): AUTO DRAM WRITE To READ Delay(DR): AUTO DRAM WRITE To READ Delay(SR): AUTO DRAM READ To WRITE Delay (DD): AUTO DRAM READ To WRITE Delay (DR): AUTO DRAM READ To WRITE Delay (SR): AUTO DRAM READ To READ Delay(DD): AUTO DRAM READ To READ Delay(DR): AUTO DRAM READ To READ Delay(SR): AUTO DRAM WRITE To WRITE Delay(DD): AUTO DRAM WRITE To WRITE Delay(DR): AUTO DRAM WRITE To WRITE Delay(SR): AUTO **************************** CPU Voltage: 1.4000v CPU PLL Voltage: 1.80 QPI/DRAM Core Voltage: 1.5375v IOH Voltage: 1.22 IOH PCIE Voltage: 1.50 ICH Voltage: 1.10 ICH PCIE Voltage: 1.50 DRAM Bus Voltage: 1.68 DRAM DATA REF Voltage on CHA: AUTO DRAM CTRL REF Voltage on CHA: AUTO DRAM DATA REF Voltage on CHB: AUTO DRAM CTRL REF Voltage on CHB: AUTO DRAM DATA REF Voltage on CHC: AUTO DRAM CTRL REF Voltage on CHC: AUTO **************************** Load-Line Calibration: AUTO CPU Differential Amplitude: AUTO CPU Clock Skew: AUTO CPU Spread Spectrum: Disabled IOH Clock Skew: AUTO PCIE Spread Spectrum: Disabled CPU Advance Settings C1E Support: Disabled Hardware Prefetcher: Enabled Adjacent Cache Line Prefetcher: Enabled Intel (R) Virtualization Tech: Disabled CPU TM Function: Disabled Execute Disable Bit: Disabled Intel (R) HT Technology: Enabled Active Processor Cores: ALL A20M: Disabled Intel (R) C-State Tech: Disabled **************************** Express Gate: Disabled |

They're also capable of DDR3-1600-1760mhz 7-7-7-24 at 1.60-1.66v on P6T6 WS Revolution http://i4memory.com/117786-post4.html ![]() ![]() |

| Administrator | OCZ3P1333LVA6GK 'Animals' CAS8 Overclocking My first hour messing around with CAS8 overclocking with OCZ3P1333LVA6GK 'Animal' and was a walk in a park to pull off single Super Pi 32M @DDR3-1954Mhz and validation @DD3-1997Mhz 8-8-8-24 1T all at same 1.70v vdimm voltage. @DD3-1997Mhz 8-8-8-24 1T at 1.70v ![]() ![]() @DD3-1954Mhz 8-8-8-24 1T at 1.70v click image for full screenshot ![]() ![]() System:
OCZ3P1333LVA6GK 'Animals' CAS8 Overclocking continued.... Improved on previous max 8-8-8-24 1T clocks of DDR3-1997Mhz validation and DDR3-1954Mhz for Super Pi 32M at 1.70v. Managed validation @DDR3-2080Mhz 8-8-8-24 1T at 1.76v and Super Pi 32M @DDR3-1990Mhz 8-8-8-24 1T at 1.76v (seems 200bclk with DDR3-2000Mhz gets 5-10 errors on test #5 loop in memtest86+ v2.11). Interesting thing is BACK To BACK CAS# Delay subtiming optimal values for this clock are either 4 or 8. AUTO, 6, and 10 result in less stability for these memory modules. @DDR3-2080Mhz 8-8-8-24 1T at 1.76v ![]() ![]() @DDR3-1990Mhz 8-8-8-24 1T at 1.76v ![]() System:

Been asked where you can buy these modules, and in Australia they aren't stocked but your can grab them from PGN in USA who ship to Australia etc http://www.priceguidenetwork.com/ocz...333lva6gk.html US$125.
