so Elpida J1108BBSE TWN non-Hypers! Pretty expensive memory to hit DDR3-1000Mhz 8-9-8-x when good set of Samsung HCF0 can do the same of course these still run at vdimm lower than Samsung HCF0. Tried raising vdimm to get it stable ? CPU VTT used ? How does 7-7-7-x max clocking fair ? Tried ADDR/CMD Bus VREF tweaking for Elpida ICs Core i7/x58 - Dealing with Elpida 50mm Hyper ICs and overclocking |

Well I did not fiddle around with it too much to achieve stability. In fact I had booted once at 7-8-7-20 but there were obvious errors like data loss, and it rebooted on a blue screen "Attempted to write in read-only." I have not tried any higher VDIMM than 1.65V with these sticks, and I have also not tried the VREF tweaks. Are you saying these are 50nm ICs, but non-hyper? |

I've achieved stability with the sticks at 8-9-8-22 2000MHz. The suggestion to tweak VREF put it at 105/104/105, and the sticks were rock solid at 1.65V. They perform beautifully at 7/8/7/20 1866MHz without the much need for tweaking.

| By eva2000 Those are the chips on the GSkill Perfect Storm 9-9-9-24 kit I had. I sent them back as one stick was dead out of the box.
By BiNGE Thanks for this! I will be trying to use this in my future efforts.
Since I sent the GSkill back for RMA, I had a set of the DDR3 2000MHz 8-8-8 Kingstons overnighted to me. These are confirmed Elpida Hyper chips under the hood. I am liking these much better that the GSkills. I was able to test the 2 good sticks of the GSkill and was able to get 1866MHz 7-8-7-20-1T with 1.64v. After that you needed 8-8-8 to get them to boot. The Kingstons however do 7-8-7-20-1T all the way up to 2000MHz no issues 1.64v. More testing needs to be done, but I'm just glad to have a working rig again! |
