Upping the anty a little

Need to figure out a lot of the settings again, as it is now a complete new ball-game.

Previosly ran all sync, @4000 core-uncore etc.
Had to drop uncore to go above 178.

Use Linx and OCCT Linpack for quick stability test.
Memtest for overnight testing.

Stabil @ 924 8-9-8-24 1T Vmem 1,65V, Vcore 1,225 +200, QPI 1,35V, IOH 1,25V, PLL 1,65V
Nothing high I think,

Up a notch.

Still getting there.
Had to up voltage to keep stable.
Stabil @ 950 8-9-8-24 1T Vmem 1,65V, Vcore 1,225 +225, QPI 1,376V, IOH 1,30V, PLL 1,67V

Next run @ 975

Running 975 8-9-8-24 1T Linx stable, voltage still the same. Dropped the multi to 20.
hope to get 1000, BBSE max stabil singlekit though 1004 C8 1T.

Hit a hard wall. Advice needed.

System boots fine up to 197, any higher it crashes.

@ EVA2000: Tried a lot of the settings you showed in the opening posts,
no luck so far.
Any suggestions?

Using both kits single, they go 2100 plus, so no probs there.

Update:
Doing all on air, seems im stuck @195x20.
Crunching all night, everything`s stable.
Regardles off multi, Volts and timings, I hit a hard wall @198 using 6 sticks.
Prob. IMC related.

Retested both kits, and all seems OK.
Patriots 200X20 8-9-8-25@2000
Mushkins 200x20 9-9-8-24@2000

Still fun though, getting to 195

I`ll undust my OCZ microns and see what`s in mixing them.
Thanks Eva2000...........
The road...

12GB Dominator 2000 C7 is it worth it?

Currently have 6GB of Dominator 2000 C7 @ 2000 7,7,7,20,74,1T thinking of buying a 2nd set to give 12GB, question is, is the actual real world operating experience worth it? and do you think the 12GB could run at same clocks?

probably need loose to 9-10-9-x if IMC isn't that good.

muttly, most likely need loosening of timings or more volts are 12GB 2000Mhz 7-7-7-x isn't that easy - check Asus X58 + 6/12GB memory overclocking - detecting less memory than installed and 12GB A-DATA 2000X DDR3 testing for ideas on getting them stable it is MAYBE possible if you do some tweaking and your memory controller is good enough to handle it.

12 GB Dominators

Thanks EVA, my question is does 12GB have any noticable improvement when working in real world apps, outlook, excel, gaming etc to warrant the expense and potential loss of tight timings, speed that 6 GB gives you?

I have SSD's in Raid 0 do you recommend running a page file. I currently do not.

Thanks in advance.

Update! just ordered 2nd set of Dominator GT C7 2000 will report results next week.

real world means alot of different things to different folks depending what they do with their pcs, usually only folks who deal with alot of memory intensive stuff would feel a different

My most memory intensive stuff these days is dealling of batch processing of large DSLR RAW photos from my Pentax K-7 14.2MP DSLR each raw image can come to 15-20MB in size.

For 12GB DDR3-1600Mhz 6-7-6-x to 7-8-7-x would be my sweet spot for 24/7.
