I've recieved it today. It's a brand new, unsealed DFI LP DK P35-T2RS sample.

AFAIK actual one is the high-end version. The T2RS is built with solid Japanese capacitors.

TO BE CONTINUED....

Code:
M/B:DFI LP DK P35-T2RS rev.AA0
CPU:Intel Core Extreme QX9650 L739A643
CPU cooling:2 Stage Cascade "Petite Bertha" (~0.5bar evap pressure, i.e. -115C loaded)
Memory:Crucial Tech. PC2-8500 1024MBx2
VGA:Jaton 7600GS
HDD:Western Digital 80GB
Power Supply:Cooler-Master 1250W
Vcore:1.81V(Actual), 1.968V(CPU-Z), AUTO+0.785V(Bios)
Vdimm: 2.58V(Actual), 2.67V(Bios)
Vmch: 1.82V(Bios)
OS:Windows 2003 Server (maxmem=600)

This board is a piece of gold!! Truely one of the best I've ever tested with a QX9650. What an FSB killer!

I've tested several boards so far and sometimes felt it a bit monochrome as differencies weren't very clear. But things are clear with the DFI LP DK P35-T2RS. Difference is real. :

Check this figure to compare.

Just amazing...

So; I'm not yet fully confident with the board. BTW, I've started playing with it under cold. As I've said already, FSB was the first good point; then the second was CPU temperature monitoring... Yeah, the temperature as shown by speedfan or the bios, looks very accurate even at about -120C.

Nothing is perfect... And obviously, the DK P35 isn't. The voltages aren't very good on this one. I mean, CPU core set to AUTO+0.785v corresponds to 'only' 1.81v actual; same matter with vDDR... 2.50v bios is in fact 2.39v actual.

very nice Xavier

have you compared dual core wolfdale FSB with other boards

that info will be very interesting

Re: Serious clocks with the DFI LP DK P35-T2RS under Bertha Cascade(s)

Hmm I am very curious about this motherboard. I have previous "mid-range" product - DFI Blood Iron and I am thinking about change. But my blood iron is magic motherboard. Regarding of course relation cost/capabilities. DFI are extremely efficient, about 2-4s better in SPI32M . They love high memories MHz with very low timings and PL. Your DFI how overclocks memory? My is capable ~ 680 MHz SPI32M. But my don't like even single stage. Sometimes occurs errors with booting under cold and I have to do c-mos. Soon I should receive my E8400 and I need FSB about ~ 555 MHz (555x9) with working 5:6 divider... hehe On my voltages are more stable, e.g. for memory when I set 2.6 in bios in real is 2.54 - 2.56 (DMM).

Thanks mate

No, unfortunately I don't have a Wolfdale ATM. I'll recieved a golden QX9650 to continue... Hope for 5.9GHz benchable under cascade.

The Blood Iron isn't cold-friendly at all... But the DK is... No cold-boot @-124C(bios).

I can't tell you about memory yet. I haven't try it too much.

Yeah... both Berthas know how to cool...

Vtt: 1.60V(Bios)
Vclockgen: 3.68V(Bios)

Max FSB so far was 511... Corrupted validation Anyway, that's not bad for a CPU which was stuck at about 480FSB on previous boards.

Next step will be under the Fat Bertha...
