DFI P35-T2R Overclocking etc..
This is a discussion on DFI P35-T2R Overclocking etc.. within the DFI Intel Motherboard / CPU forums, part of the Intel motherboards / CPU category; wow nice 8800GTX you have 660mhz GPU unmodded! 15k Is that good is it? Cheers Funny thing is in HWBOT ...

Funny thing is in HWBOT the chart tells me it's poor. Here's a 20 min(I know short) blend test with the quad. Memory is Geil 8500 cas 4s. I think that the Gskill HZ's actually perform a bit more reliably on this board. Some notes running up to this. Running the ram 1060mhz 4-4-4-12 (266/667 4:5) wasn't particularly stable and blend crashed the system. As I say I think maybe my geils are part of the problem there, but it's also a 1066 strap if I'm right?? With 1016mhz 4-4-4-12 (333/800 5:6) at auto performance level of 6, blend failed after a minute. I loosened the performance level to 7, before running the following blend test.... Note Halted rather than failed. Q6600 GO 423x9 (3.8 ghz) Mem 1016mhz 4-4-4-12 Prime Blend Test ![]()

Just taken some readings for VDIMM with a multimeter. Smartguardian does seem to be more accurate than bios from what I've found. Bios set to 2.49v vdimm Readings in windows xp taken from a free slot. 1 memory stick in reads 2.46v 2 memory sticks in read 2.44v Reading taken while in bios 2 memory sticks in read 2.44v So according to my multimeter -0.05v from what is set in bios. I did a blend run, while taking a reading. SMG reports a droop of about -0.04v. Multimeter reports no droop at all. Not sure how these things work, and whether that's accurate for the slots the memory sticks are occupying at the time. RLM |

RLM and Eva thanks for sharing the bios settings. I was able to get the board up and running yesterday. So for I like the board alot. I was able to fire it up and run 3DMark06 at 9X400 with the QX6850. The board is definately faster than my Striker. I wasn't able to push it b/c of the heat. Once I am sure everythng is stable I going to install the waterblocks and have at it. Is there any chance that either of you know of a chipset waterblock that will fit over the mosfet area on the DFI? edit: It appears that the Vdroop function is working properly with the 0823 bios. "Disabled" is actually working. 1.29375 set in bios is reading 1.31 in Windows at idle AND load. |

+I put a Papst 120mm fan on the south bridge and it was running cool to the touch but SG reported temps of 51c under load. Cpu temps climbed to 69c with the Scythe Infinity. +I have NB & SB waterblocks from my previous setup. I need a waterblock for the PWM /mosfet area. When liquid cooled this board should rock! +Looking forward to tweaking the Corsair 1111 Dominators when I can get the temps under control. |

Last 24 has been a bit of a nightmare. Geil and DFI P35, not to good a combo right now. Machine was down with C1 error. Flushing cmos, removing battery, leaving for hours, trying single sticks in all the slots, none of it worked. Motherboard packed up and about to be returned. Gskill were out on loan. Got them back a few hours ago. In a last ditch attempt, I stuck a stick in and back in action Weird though. Almost as if flushing cmos isn't returning everything to default. That or unpredictable auto settings. Very odd. Really need to drop DFI a line on this one. Do you know the best point of contact Eva2000? RLM |

ShoNuff, Glad you're up and running Thanks for posting your settings, good on you man.Have contemplated watercooling the NB myself, much like I did on the Quad GT. I believe you can get a heatsink from Thermalright for the mosfets. Not a 100% though. Regards watercooling the mosfets. Don't alphacool do a range of waterblocks? In fact not to be too lazy, just done a google. Not sure if any of these are suitable. http://www.alphacool.de/index.php/ca...t-coolers.html On my setup, I've got an 80mm fan fitted on the end of my apogee's mounting bolts, which blows over the NB. Had to drill some holes in the fan, due to how close the graphics card is. For the PWM, I have another 80mm fan mounted outside the case blowing in through the back of it. Compared to the IP35 pro the PWM's stay pretty damn cool, topping out at 50c full load. My current idle temps, with a warm ambient (shorts and t-shirt ) are 35c PWM and 36c Chipset.RLM |
