This is a discussion on DFI Lanparty UT X58-T3EH8 LGA1366 Photos, Bios and Overclocking Information Guide within the DFI Intel Motherboard / CPU forums, part of the Intel motherboards / CPU category; Ok, tks. Will start OCing on Sunday/Monday, i'm getting my WC setup up and running this weekend....

eva, thanks so much for this thread! My i7 920 and DFI board (with the latest beta BIOS) have been screaming since I followed some of the stuff in here. I have the 6GB Kingston DDR3 2000MHz kit and it runs perfectly at 2008MHz 8-8-8-20-1T. Just needed to bump the VTT volts up a bit! So I am running at 4GHz with 1.36v, RAM at 2008MHz with 1.64v, and to keep the QPI stable at that speed, I set that to 1.52v. That's the lowest stable I could get on the VTT voltage. Again, many thanks! |

alright MR DFI, can you help explain what the hell is going on. i just started actually testing one of my 965s with Prime and happened to have a CPU-Z window open. at 3.8GHz 1.280v i get nothing over 65C in Realtemp...everything seemed normal. i jumped up to 3.9GHz (144x27) with 1.325v and all of a sudden, the CPU multi is dropping to 26X and even 25X once in a while. i have thermal control off, everything in CPU control but EIST on so i can run higher multi. at idle it is a solid 27X. if i drop voltage to 1.30v temps stay around 65C in Realtemp and the multi seems to stick at 27X, but going up in voltage it starts to flop around. any ideas? i am assuming throttling but at those temps it isn't the CPU...it's got to be the motherboard. |

![]() By 3oh6 is this with Vista or XP ? Vista make sure power management is set to high performance otherwise if left at default setting for power management, under load Turbo multiplier set will drop by 1x
also from tip #2 at here

| By eva2000 Vista X64, power management set to high performance already.
it was disabled, but with the 965 you get the other two options visable which were disabled. i have enabled VR Current and just started Prime95 again. we'll see if that helps. temps are at 68C in Realtemp again and so far no fluttering. hmmm, i would have thought having both TDC and TDP options disabled would have prevented it from happening regardless of what VR Current was set to. and that is why you are called Mr. DFI...thanks bud, it was driving me nuts |

Hi, and thanks for this thread. Please excuse my bad english. I have a T3eH8 too, but my i920 (batch 3838B079) don´t likes any CPU/VTT. If i raise this Voltage up to 1,26 i become restarts after a few minutes of Prime equal which V-Core or ..... Have you ever heard from those problems? |

![]() Really hard to determine without rest of the info - for specific config/setting troubleshooting probably best to start your own thread with info for hardware specs' and bios settings you have tried (using bios template here) It can be a fine balance for bclk/mem with vcore, cpu vtt, vdimm and ioh/ich related voltages. So far come across 3 types of core i7 cpus from my rounds on forums and my own experience Type 1 - core i7 cpus that need high to very high cpu vtt to overclock for memory and bclk. Type 2 - core i7 cpus that like low-medium low cpu vtt to overclock for memory and bclk and scale with cpu vtt and memory voltage Type 3 - core i7 cpus that only like low-medium low cpu vtt to overclock for memory and bclk BUT DO NOT scale for either cpu vtt and memory voltage or both low cpu vtt = 1.3-1.35v medium cpu vtt = 1.35-1.5v high cpu vtt = 1.5-1.55v very high cpu vtt = >1.55-1.65v Not to mention cpu vtt needed also depends on actual memory modules used too. |

OK, here are my settings. But i tried every voltage up to 1,45 V-Core with these Clocks, if i raise the VTT he becomes instable! It makes no sense compared with the settings of other user, i think. Or i am wrong? if i raise up my uncore frequency´s he becomes instable, too. I think because of the VTT Voltage. So, i think my one is a ultra low vtt voltage one!!! But my new one is coming next week, with some corsair RAM. Oh the Rest of my hardware you con find in my sig, in a few minutes....
