Not really sure bud, I've never come across it. Or at least it's never caused a problem for me such that I took any notice of it. All i can say is when you build the disk in Nlite always make sure the advanced check box is ticked if there is one on the page you are on and read the descriptions carefully for each of the services and components and tweaks and you might find a reference to it. I've been using Nlited versions for ages & ages now and maybe it's one of those options I always disable without thinking... I dunno @dinos, Yeah I saw in one of Before's posts where he mentioned that uxtheme.dll is called by SuperPi for one reason or another. I suppose that being as the theme extension is already loaded into memory when using Luna it takes less processing or loading to memory.... pure specualtion on my part |

Nah mate, I just snagged a screeny while I was installing for that 32m challenge xp install riddle we spoke about earlier. It would be a good follow up for this thread though, I'll look into it |

I made my "Benching OS" but it ended up being 250Mb and I followed your guide exactly. The only things added were RVM Update Pack 2.1.7, Irfanview and Firefox which is only an extra 50mb or so. Jaffa. Was that 150Mb build including the RVM SP2 Update Pack mate? Nevertheless I'm happy with the end result. Someone should make presets you can download |

I didn't include any updates or update packs in that build because it's strictly a benching disk and won't be used on-line, also there is a lot of networking stuff in windows so keeping that functionality would explain the somewhat larger size. Obviously the more updates you add the more the install will grow in size too, but you seem to have trimmed quite a bit from it. |

Yeah mate I saw that too, how on earth it could improve performance is beyond me, maybe the prefetch flush would help, but I'm doubtful, if nothing else it's good to be able to delete all the redundant stuff in one fell swoop so kudos to OPB for that. One thing is for sure there are more old wive's tales in the OC'ing world than anyone could possibly imagine. I'd really love to do an exposé of all the tweaks and find out once and for all which ones actually do anything, I started doing one for SuperPi 1m and 32m before Christmas but kind of ran out of motivation before I even got into the 32m testing. I might get on it again when I'm at a loose end.
