even if so, it won't have any significant effects on other parts mate. memory waste heat is nothing compared to CPUs and graphics cards
I don't think so, just have a look around at some of eva2000's benchies and with Conroe E6600 and you will see a 12 cm fan blowing over DDR2 1Gb sticks..

... and those DDR2 sticks are not even 1Gb size & only using 2.2v Max according to that thread >Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe + Intel D975XBX Installed

So I can just imagine how hot 1Gb sticks will run when O/C !

u'll be tempted to come over to 2x1GB eventually i was saying the same thing during the transition from 2x256MB to 2x512MB.

I'm surprised it's taken him so long, games in particular benefit heaps from RAM. And Rodney fancies himself as a bit of a gamer.
