Just a small heads up for those currently in the market. With Vista being launched, component manufacturers finally getting rid of their old DDR stock (eg Intel's 865 chipset, AMD's Socket 939 being EOL etc) & market demand for memory not being stimulated within the last financial quater, it looks like DDR2 RAM prices are finally on their way down. In regards to DDR, existing demand is continuing to increase, which is causing a reverse effect with the pricing of DDR, with it continuing to steadily increase on average, despite a slight drop last week. By DRAMExchange Last weeks pricing trend:
![]() Up to date memory stock pricing: here Some nice percentile decreases there for only a one week period. Let's hope they continue at the same rate. Hopefully this provides some great opportunities for both computer enthusiasts and also the average user in the upcoming months to help embrace some of the new upcoming technologies planned for the next few quaters eg E4***, E6*50, X38, AMD's 65nm line up etc. |

Yeah, I also heard the word on the street that Micron IC's won't be effected much, in fact, they are supposebly rising in the next few weeks (possibly for the reasons you have already mentioned Eva - short supply + high demand). Promos, Elpida, Samsung etc should most definately benefit I would say. Not too bad when you consider Promos being used more and more within certain lines of popular memory like Corsair TwinX etc. A bit more confirmation from an insider on the fine details would be good though,*knock*knock* Yellowbeard or OCZTony |

Hopefully good things to come from this for the consumer & severe Micron D9 addicts, just as the previous anticipated RAM price drop which seems to have finally hit Aus ![]() By Shanghai Daily Original News Source
