| 2GB Dual Channel Mushkin EM3200 & Help selecting DDR2-667!
Hi Guys, Just a quick one. I am currently running this 2GB Kit in my server at home. I am about to go Core 2 Duo and will need to offload this kit. Before it goes I'd like to know a bit more about the kit to be able to set a listing price. It's Mushkin with purple heat spreaders. All that is on the label is :- 2GB EM3200 Dual Kit 1174-1 991461 It hasn't been pushed as the board it is in is a proprietory board with no OC features. Looking for what actual Ram chips are on this stuff and if it is any good. Cheers Willo |

mosel or micron huh http://forums.mushkin.com/phpbb2/vie...ghlight=em3200 mosel not as good as micron but only way to get top dollar would be overclock them yourself and find the max and show the results in your forsale thread... without results they're just another PC3200 set of memory. |

| Re: 2GB Dual Channel Mushkin EM3200 - What is it? By eva2000 Thankyou. In terms of Winbond BH-5 and Samsung TCCD/UCCD etc where does mosel and micron sit??
On that note. I knew a bit about DDR1 stuff eg:- Winbond BH/CH-5. OCZ is pretty good. I had a good pair of Corsair TwinX with CH-5 from memory. What am I looking at in DDR2667MHZ Ram? What is the new bees Knees??? I've lost touch with desktop stuff unfortunately, been researching Home Recording studios for my wife and MoDT. |

depends BH-5 is best 2-2-2-5 performance but you need alot of vdimm. For benching it's fine. TCCD high 2.5-3-3-x with less vdimm but can run hotter than BH-5 with high vdimm. Performance to price ratio for availability in Australia I'd have 3 recommendations For Intel 975x/965x/p35 platform try for overclocking 1. 2x1GB G.Skill 6400PHU2 2GBHZ - Micron D9GMH or D9GCT based around AUD$263-299 (probably best all round even if you're not overclocking) 2. 2x1GB Super Talent PC2-8000 C5 stuff AUD$339ish 3. 2x1GB Crucial PC2-8500 AUD$389 If you want slightly cheaper maybe Gskill 6400 HKs Promos based memory at 4-4-3-x. I know all above at DDR2-800 rated but it's probably best for future use on 1333FSB bus speed cpus as well Honestly the only DDR2-667 stuff I'd touch with certainty is Crucial since it would be Micron D9 based. But where you located ? need to fill in your location profile I'd ultimately choose a brand with strong warranty support in your country/area.In Australia that would be OCZ, Corsair, Gskill at least. |
