Yeah i'm pretty impressed with the CAS5 performance of this memory. Shame CAS4 doesn't seem to be up there.

Me thinks latest high end Micron D9GMH/D9GKX is binned by Micron for high CAS5 - maybe cheaper to make this way and thus would explain the following
  1. The huge price drop on high end PC2-8000/8500 parts - cheaper costs to make
  2. Why manufacturers such as Corsair, OCZ, G.Skill, Crucial etc passing on the price drops so quickly - if it's binned higher for CAS5, it would make manufacturers' own hand pick/speed bin testing alot faster and easier to do = labour hour time costs down as well = better pricing for use end users
  3. Why modules such as Corsair PC2-8888C4 Dominators, Geil PC2-9280, and all 8000+ rated CAS4 Micron modules are in short supply - as Micron just doesn't have those CAS4 optimised ICs to supply the manufacturers as Micron opted to cut production costs and make the easier to make CAS5 optimised ICs

well all time best depends on board

Asus P5B Deluxe
1. Super Talent T1000UB1G5 Micron D9GKX - nice 600mhz 5-4-4-4 and 605mhz 5-5-5-15 at 2.35v
2. Gskill 6400PHU2 HZ Micron D9GMH 629 batch - only modules prior to Super Talent ones above to hit 600mhz 5-4-4-4
3. Team 6400C3 Micron D9GMH - nice 590mhz 5-4-4-5 at 2.63v but 580mhz 4-4-4-5 at 2.45v best for CAS4 (doesn't like tRAS 5 much without very high vdimm)
4. OCZ PC2-8000 Titanium Alpha VX2 Micron D9GMH/D9GKX - topped out around 585mhz 4-4-4-4
5. OCZ PC2-9200 FlexXLC - no tighter than 5-5-4 but hits 600mhz easy at 2.45v

Asus 680i Striker Extreme
1. OCZ PC2-8000 Titanium Alpha VX2 Micron D9GMH/D9GKX - handled 600mhz 5-3-3-3 tight sub timings at 0.1v vdimm less than Team 6400C3
2. Team 6400C3 Micron D9GMH - handled 600mhz 5-3-3-3 but required more vdimm than OCZ VX2 above
3. Super Talent T1000UB1G5 Micron D9GKX - couldn't do 600mhz 5-3-3-3 but 5-4-4-4 was okay
4. Gskill 6400PHU2 HZ Micron D9GMH 629 batch
5. OCZ PC2-9200 FlexXLC - no tighter than 5-5-4 at 600-650+ mhz. But mem clock wise highest capable of 650-670mhz.

Too early to rank them for Asus P5K Deluxe or Asus Commando (arrived today )
